SCUM

Certainly, just as long as Vics don’t go bust in the meantime!!!
WHS.

i see they had a bad ref at stafford last night, that must be about ten times this season, its been the refs fault.

See they had Ben Wharton playing for them at Stafford. Remember him in our pre-season games at Congleton and Ramsbotton( he was crap ).

Was he the blond haired striker who played for us against Congleton? Quite possibly the worst player ive ever seen!

i see that mamamia as lost is job at v£cs, shame really i thought he was doing a grand job as team manager.

Just been on the Vics supporters web site, makes amazing reading. The club owe £300,000 to the inland revenue and having already put in £300,000 the owner admits the credit crunch prevents him putting in any more. In his opinion the “club will remain solvent THIS SEASON” he obviously is not sure after that. As for the consortium, there is little concrete evidence they even exist. He also poured scorn on the idea of the supporters regaining control of the club, they just have not got that kind of money. (Dear God, I am glad all we are worried about is possibly relegation.) His final comment is really funny. He wants to concentrate on just avoiding relegation this year and then aiming for the play-offs next years, cloud cuckoo land again. As for the new manager having money that is not true, some wealthy backers wanted him to just “front up” a takeover over Lewes that fell through.

FORMER Vics chairman Mike Connett spent the night in a police cell last week.

Currently the Wincham club’s landlord, he was arrested by officers called to his home in High Legh - near Knutsford - on Remembrance Day following reports of a disturbance.

He has not been charged.

“A 56-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault on November 11 and taken to Middlewich custody suite,” said a Cheshire Police spokesman.

“He was released on bail the next day and has been asked to report to the same place on December 2.”

They probably thought it wasn’t worth fining him because he wouldn’t pay it anyway:laugh:

I think the present owner of Vics and this “invisible” consortium should take note of what has happened to Mr. Connett, trying to run a sinking ship will drag you down with it.

I’m always interested to read views from the other side of the canal. I come on your site to look at the latest news, results etc and usually don’t feel the need to post. Of course, being from the ‘GREEN side’, I always hope that Witton get beat on a Saturday, it’s only natural. I know Wittoners feel the same about the Vics. But I would like to see Witton continue to survive, I’ve grown up with the rivalry and long may it carry on!

Anyway, I want to ask you WHS - are you really a secret Vics fan?! You seem to spend an awful lot of time bothering about the Club, if you are not posting on here, you are writing to the local press about us! ‘Invisible’ consortium? time will tell Alan! Anyway, perhaps if you put all your effort into looking out for the Albion, rather than bothering about the Vics, you could help to move your club forward!

Just a thought!

Northwicher, you must come on our site a lot to know I write about your lot!! I am only interested in Vics because when we were in trouble most Vics fans were happy to see us go under. That we didn’t was down to Wittoners without any help from you lot and it is down to Wittoners to keep us going now, which we do. Your owner came to us not the other way around remember. I stick by my predictions that your club will not get bailed out this time because few people have money to throw away on football clubs in the present finacial crisis. And remember this, YOU will not own the ground if someone does come in to buy it any more than you do now. The teams position will be excatly as it is now, tenants
WHS.

I think events on the dark side have long way to run yet. There is no guarantee that any new purchasers of the marston arena will be any more vics fans than connett obviously was(n’t). I think WHS is also correct in hia assessment that the most likely outcome is that vics will still be tenants. However the thorny issue is that even if the ground is secured and vics can stay there, the debts that the consortium took over when they aquired vics have in all likelihood grown and still need to be repayed. There is also no obvious reason why revenues will now support a blue square premier team when they haven’t for many years, including those at the drill field when gates were better. Furthermore, It still doesn’t add up why any consortium in their right minds would plough vast sums of money into an assetless company.

We however have our own problems too. I think radical solutions may be needed to keep some football in this town and I cant help thinking that the twists and turns yet to come will ensnare our football club as well.

I have to agree with the last writer, we are involved because what happens to Vics can affect us in many ways. If they are saved yet again it will not help our cause, if they go under it will help our cause. It is about time all supporters realised that any dreams of the Football League are just that, dreams. There is simply not the core support for either team to finance it, I doubt there would be even with only one team in the town.We can be a really good Northern Conference Club if we can get our house in order, but any higher than that and we would be in finacial difficulties within months. It is no good relying on some millionaire to come along and save you, if they do, they soon get bored and you are back in trouble. As I understand it our finaces are not wonderful but we are solvent. If we go down we would undoubtedly bounce back quite quickly given the level of our support, but I would rather we stay up. So we all have to give what we can to our beloved club and hope for the best.
