What bothers me LeRoy is that it might happen, I am beginning to think that they = are somehow fated to always survive. Anyway that’s me done with this thread, let them get on with it while we do things the right way. As Danny Blanchflower said “The great fallacy is that the game is first and last about winning. It is nothing of the kind. The game is about glory, it is about doing things in style and with a flourish, about going out and beating the other lot, not waiting for them to die of boredom.” Pritch has given us just such a team.

It is difficult to believe but several people on the Vics web site are suggesting they come back to the “Swamp” I kid you not, the are still calling our ground the “Swamp” even as they have the nerve to ask to use it to save their skins. My answer would always be the same “Go and stuff yourselves”!! They are so desperate they are asking to play at Crewe! How many of their LOYAL supporters will follow them there? It cannot be long before their long and lingering agony is over and go to play in the North West Counties League where they belong.

Maybe they could reform as Northwich Villa? How many points will the league deduct them for switching grounds (wherever that may be?). SBL
I just (and allways have) fail to comprehend the ungratefull nature of SOME of thier fans about the groundsharing whist that great big green and white elephant was being built over there, the sums just never added up, they were doomed from leaving the Drill Field! Absolutely no way we should consider having anything to do with them anymore, we were happy to help Runcorn as THEY appreciated it!!
My last thought on this, if the deal is right for Witton then i would consider it but only on a tenant basis, never a ground share or merger and only if jim rush is off the scene he is not good to do business with full stop, work with the V*** trust and see if we can reach some form of agreement with them and yes definitely money up front only, not bothered either way tbh if our board are happy with our position and dont need the money then let them squirm.
It’s not just about the deal being right. If they were here again (and how many times would you really invite your mother-in-law round) it is about the Witton people opening up, suffering the 90 minutes, ensuring the changing rooms are clean after them, locking everything Witton up, then the hassle of chasing the money up from them.
Add to that the condition of the pitch after a winter Saturday (like this week) and the unpaid groundstaff trying to get it ready for a Witton midweek game. And before anyone mentions their groundsman I wouldn’t let him near any of the pitch.
So, let’s be unanimous - no to Wincham Park.
Chinkers is available.

Well said G.E. If our Board accept money from them for a ground-share I will NEVER set foot on the ground again nor will I make donations through the sweeps predictions etc. Vics MUST be allowed to die as they are at present, let them reform through their supporters in the North West counties League or even the Cheshire League and ground-share with whoever will have them as long as it is NOT us. I believe there are vacancies in the Sunday League!

Oh well, according to Northwest tonight few minutes ago they can stay at their place till the end of the season.
We all knew they would escape as usual, but where do they go then? Altrincham? Nantwich? Wherever it is it will not be in the Northwich area and how many supporters are going to travel miles every week to watch them? No, there best hope is to groundshare with Lostock or Barnton or Middlewich and play in the North West Counties League, if they will have them.

Seems to me they’ll be “Thor Chemicals United, football league in five years James Rushe damn good chap Victoria”!
It seems the latest is they have no agreement with Thor for the rest of the season Rushe will not agree to the terms, and talks have broken down they need a ground share ? Rushe is going to fight Thor and he will lose imo, what an egotistical idiot he is - HE fits right in at V**S
Apparently Thor have completed the purchase today.
Fortunately by the talks breaking down they have seen JR for what he is (and judging by this tweet today from Andrew Simpson):
Fair to say that Thor’s attempts to get @NorthwichVicsFC Jim Rushe to cede his right to campaign against their plans was the deal-breaker.
Looks pretty bad!

They have two options:- 1, Ground share with Nantwich or Altrincham and try to keep going, though how many fans would travel that far for a home game is debatable. Or 2. Start again with the supporters in charge; ground share with Lostock or another minor local team and use the floodlights and stand as negotiating tools. This would mean starting again at a much lower level, maybe even Cheshire League and using a totally new name. There is of course a third alternative that most of us Wittoners would prefer; go to hell in a handcart!!

Your post on the Guardian website suggests you could be getting the " Olive branch " out soon WHS !
I have learned my lesson, if I am overly critical of Vics they ban me!!! On here, I hope they go forever!

good news for football, a club who have continually paid out more than what is coming in. i feel sorry for the majority of their supporters and think they should take over the club at a much lower league standing and throw rushe into the canal. at least now it will be realised that we are the team of northwich under a very astute chairman in mark harris, he has been good for witton, and i hope his recovery continues to improve and to see him down at witton where he belongs.
I don’t believe Rushe to be as bad as he is painted, he obviously loves football, you don’t run two football teams if you don’t, I think he just got ahead of himself. I agree the supporters should now take over, there are enough of them to finance a team in the Cheshire League at least, or they could do the sensible thing, BECOME WITTONERS!!
