Why are they blaming Thor Chemicals?Thor have bought the ground and they can do what they like with it.It is v**s’s own failings that they have come to this. They can’t blame Thor. It’s so dumb.
I wonder how many supporters are there at v**s ground this morning for this planned protest?
With a bit more planning we could have arranged a group to go down and sing “There’s only one Jim Rushe”
Have to be quick, we should all rushe down immediately.
Statement from Thor:
FOLLOWING the announcement from Deloitte detailing that the Victoria Stadium has been sold to an unnamed buyer, we wish to advise that the buyer is Thor Specialities (UK) Limited.
Thor is a privately-owned British speciality chemical business which operates from the site that is immediately next door to the Victoria Stadium.
It was our intention to confirm this purchase publicly at the end of this month, or early next month, upon completion of the contract but following the speculation and uncertainty that has arisen we deemed it appropriate to confirm the situation.
Thor has been in Wincham since 2002 and, despite the global economic climate, has continued to invest in its business and infrastructure.
As a result, it has gone through a considerable expansion programme which in turn has meant the need for further capacity and distribution facilities.
The purchase of the adjoining site means that we will be able to continue to invest in these areas, resulting in both long-term security of employment for our current workforce but also the creation of new employment opportunities within the area.
As it has been already stated by Deloitte, the football club has been given numerous opportunities over the past two and a half years to purchase the stadium, but for reasons unknown to Thor this has never materialised.
It was only when we became aware that Northwich Victoria had made an agreement to ground share for the current season with their neighbours Witton Albion that we approached the receivers with respect to the future plans for the site.
In July 2011 we reached a verbal understanding with them but, before this could lead to any firm agreement, we were advised by the that negotiations had once again been initiated by the football club.
The receiver stated that they would prefer a sale to the football club and that they wished to pursue a final round of negotiations with them before making any decision on further talks with Thor.
These talks again failed to materialise with the purchase of the stadium and as a result the receivers then elected to re-commence negotiations with Thor.
We are extremely sympathetic to the plight of the football club and do recognise its contribution to the local community as one of the oldest football clubs in England.
While we will not be in a position to allow the club to continue to operate from the stadium, we are willing to sit down and discuss ways in which we could provide some assistance to the club going forward.
We would like to assure the club that once we can establish what format and structure they will have going forward then we will be more than happy to sit down and meet with the appropriate people.
God Almighty Thor!!! Don’t do that, they will only drag you down with them. If you want to invest in a local football team invest in us, Witton Albion; we are run well and need only a small “push” to be really on our way. Vics? No ground no money, no future. Money down the drain if you support Vics.
WHS.
Talk of a merger on their part is ust laughable. The word desperate springs to mind, very very desperate.
I think we have exhausted this topic for the time being.
Let’s get our game on Saturday out of the way now.
Vic’s troubles do not immediately affect us, and will only benefit us in the long-term if we make sure that our house is in order.
Time to move on now.

There are lots of thor throats going around at present.Must be the time of the year.
I agree Robbo, I will not post on this thread until there is some REAL new news. Up the Albs!!

‘It was only when we became aware that Northwich Victoria had made an agreement to ground share for the current season with their neighbours Witton Albion that we approached the receivers with respect to the future plans for the site’
Does such an agreement exist?
I dont see that we need to stop discussing this as it develops to be honest its a topic that is important to to people of the town, football fans generally and wittoners, Thor have confirmed that they will not be allowing football to be played on there new site and vics are looking at emergency ground share that does not include witton - good, all rush is doing is blaming thor and the recievers anyone but him if thor were ever going to help everey time he opens his mouth they will close the doors.
No wonder the Green Ones are finding it hard to swallow  :woohoo:
I just want to say , that it highlights what a splendid job the players, management , groundstaff , matchday helpers, directors and Mark Harris have done for this club.
I know for sure how tight things have been and how prudent they have had to be. We really are very fortunate to have people at the club, with the clubs interests at heart. Steadily I think Witton can grow regardless of loss of any relevant rivalry , which there hasnt been for many years to be honest, When was the last meaningful fixture between vics and witton?
Thor is the Nordic god of Thunder and Rain. Looks like the heavens have opened on the Vics! SBL

I believe there was one drawn up early last year, to cover the 2011-12 season as a condition of extending the deadline for the need of VICS having a license or lease agreement in place for the Victoria Stadium… However, they denied the existence of the ground sharing agreement when they failed to meet deadlines for the 1st home game against Kendal.
They were thus fined for failure to complete the fixture
Just watched the Granada Reports programme, got really angry when someone said that Northwich needed to have a football team!! So angry I sent an email saying they are getting what they deserve and that there IS a PROPER club in Northwich called Witton Albion who are not only well run, pay their debts and also support our injured troops. Meanwhile Vics are just interested in themselves and not bothered about all the people who have not been paid each time they haver gone bust. I am REALLY worried that THOR will buy this sob story and the Arabs will survive again.
WHS.
JR is now portraying them as Northwich Vic-tims.
It’s a shame that the BBC & ITV don’t discuss the longer story.
Poor Jim has been standing up all day and rushing about to save his face and the lizards.
He must be tho thor that he probably can’t thit down.
Someone on their forum thinks Thor should cover their next ground share costs via shirt sponsorship, the cheek of it. That would be like having your house repossessed, the bank selling it on and you wanting the new owner to pay your rent.
