It doesn’t matter how good a player he is or if Witton were to win 5-0 every week, the ‘older generation’ of Wittoners are a bunch of miserable gits, I remember as a child when Witton would be 2 or 3 up and they would still be moaning and calling for Stan Allen’s head, its just in a Wittoners older generation DNA to moan and be grumpy! .veryangry
I did hear that there was a photo of Steve Foster riding Shergar!
I don’t actually go to watch Spurs and as I have said before I am not a fan of Premier League Football it is full of people like Woodgate. . As for Mr. Foster, he cheated us in the Telford game, getting one of our lads sent off and he has a reputation for doing it still. He left us in the lurch as soon as it suited him just like Ian Kearney and I don’t want him back either. We have a squad of players who appear to WANT to play for our club, many could earn much more elsewhere but they stay; our Manager is my example of a true Wittioner, committed to the club through thick and thin and Mike and Nigel are died in the wool Wittoners too. They think Foster will win us games, their jobs are on the line if they fail, I totally understand that and I don’t hold it against them, they must do what they think necessary but I don’t have to like it. As for being Grumpy because we are old what a ridiculous thing to say, the older generation are the backbone of the club and I would think far outnumber the youngsters and only a few have I heard moaning about the team at any time during a game, in fact I think it was you youngsters who did most of the moaning on here when we lost in the cup!
WHS.
But WHS there is no loyalty in football anymore that is a fact I’m afraid.
I didn’t see the Telford game but have heard the story recounted from more than one witness. All I can say is that at that time he was playing for another team and that’s where his loyalty needed to lie. We wouldn’t want anyone changing their game if up against an old club would we?
Players are transitional in a clubs history and will come and go. Only the fans are forever.
Lets not get hung up on who is pulling the short on, just get behind them and hope they bang a hatful of goals in
I got told we let fozzy go last time because we had to reduce the budget. The same reason we let stott leave the first time. Don’t remember people saying they didn’t want him wearing the shirt on his return. I also don’t remember people condemning titch when he dived to win us a pen last minute v curzon away last season. Seems one rule for one and a different rule for everyone else. I personally very happy with his return and a great bit of business done by our great club.
Didn’t Fozzy trigger the global financial meltdown with his constant bundling of toxic US sub-prime mortgages and peddling them on the international money markets???..
A good bit of business, he’s only on loan lets not forget so if not up to the mark he will be back at Chorley in 5 weeks. It will be interesting to see if he plays with Stott, Tuck or on his own. I don’t really agree with the comments about not wanting him back for something he did 4 years ago. Foster is an old pro, who perhaps isn’t the most naturally talented footballer I have ever seen but what he has got is experience and nous which is perhaps something we have been missing this season. I am sure no one will complain if he has scored 20 goals by the end of the season.
I don’t like the chap but I do respect Brian Pritchard. He will have taken this chance to sign him for Witton’s benefit.
I think we are missing Titch quite badly and Foster is a proven goalscorer.
I’m adopting the same stance as when he last played for us, I’ll appreciate his goals but I’ll only call him “Fozzy” when he scores the winner for us in the Trophy final at Wembley. (consistent eh Si?).
To refuse to watch your team is taking it too far, but would you be true to your word or is it posting for posting’s sake?
Not posting for posting’s sake, Pritch has made his decision I have made mine, I won’t watch a team with Foster in it. I still remember the pain of that Telford result and Foster will NEVER change.
WHS.
Having bothered to go to Ferriby today I can assure you he will feature in our team in the near future.
Like it or lump it.
Could you extend your boycott to the forum?
Quality signing.Us Wittoners have a reputation in the north-west of been a gang of bloody moaners.I have been told by past opponents that they used the Central Ground and Wincham Park to their advantage, hear a few moans and bleats and we have got them.
It is time to move on,lets not be negative about what happens in football and lets be careful about what we put on here.Shaun Tuck was hardly given a great reception and i also to my shame support United.
So, according to jonnyamery “the ‘older generation’ of Wittoners are a bunch of miserable gits, I remember as a child when Witton would be 2 or 3 up and they would still be moaning”
No doubt an apology will be posted when he grows up!
If you are a bit of a saddo like me you sometimes look at other teams forums. They, generally, don’t argue about good players signing for their club or moan when their team is promoted and look like getting into the play-offs in the next league. Just saying.
