Match pointers
WITTON have this down as a must-win match, according to manager Jim Vince.

The Albion boss went to watch Steels thrash UniBond Division One North leaders Curzon Ashton 4-1 in the President’s Cup on Monday.

"We don’t need to be worried about the teams we play against," he said.

"What is important is how we play and how we apply ourselves."

He believes there is still much room for improvement despite successive 6-1 victories.

According to the Steels Supporters’ Club website Stocksbridge have played Witton 14 times, winning four to Albion’s six.

Witton hold the record for the most goals scored against Steels in a single game - seven.

Gary Marrow’s men have won only two of their opening 10 league matches, leaving them 14th in UniBond Division One South.

The Steels boss also has a lengthy injury list at the moment, with no fewer than five men fighting to be fit for tomorrow’s game.

Anyone on updates today? ???

That’ll do

Had me worried for a bit there, only a bit mind. Sounds like we coasted through.

Nice home draw in the next round will do nicely.

Well done lads, sounds like another profesional performance and well done Adam I hope he has a large cupboard at home to keep all these matchballs in!

Not very professional first half Picko, the defence was absolutely dreadfull for the first half hour. The pace of SPS number 9 ran them ragged, calm and collective in midweek the defence was very unconvincing today, JK is easily the best keeper in the unibond had a mare today. easy to have a go, a cup game against opponents who had nothing to lose, I know our players are aware how important the prize fund is and Im sure the management warned them of "Hey we turn up, we win" attitude I am sure its a lesson learnt for the younger members and a wake up call to the older players.
Second half Witton Albion turned up,some good performances,
Peers was my man of the match that guy once he gets going is awesome. £2000 is important, look to the next round lads 50% on top of that if we perform as we know you can.
PS Personally three points against Hednesford is more important but finances rule everything,

Christ !! Ive just won the lottery,

Bye

Just like watching Brazil 2nd half - forget the first half. MoM MACCA ! He drove us on thro the rough patches in the first half.

If u won the lottery ME don’t forget who found your SPECS.

Good result 2nd half sounds like the 1st half was a bit dodgy though. Great to see Adam banging them at the moment, 2nd top goal scorer now, lets hope we can keep this run going.

We seemed very sloppy and lackadaisical at the back for much of the first half, and right at the beginning of the second, don’t know what went wrong. At the other end though, although we didn’t get the ‘usual’ six ;D, we could easily have scored a lot more, and of course we should have had a couple of penalties as well. Sometime this season we’ll turn it on for 75 minutes or more of a game, and give someone a real thrashing.
