The Northwich Guardian.

Am I the only person blazing mad with our local rag this morning? They won’t print anything I write for saying they were biased towards Vics and then I see this quote by Rushe used by the paper. “I don’t think it should be so easy to squash the town’s football club.” “The town’s football club”? It has obviously escaped his notice that the town has two clubs and it is no good the paper claiming it is a quote from Rushe because nowhere in the articles does the other club get a mention. Come on Witton supporters, get writing to the press otherwise people who don’t know better will think there really is only one team in town. It appears Mr. Simpson that my argument that your paper is biased against the other club in town is totally confirmed.
WHS.

That’s a bit disrespectful to Macclesfied.

I would comment that the fact their website’s last entry - and let them face it as that’s where they tell their readers to find out the latest - for us is from the match at salford, now more than a week ago, simply adds fuel to your point.

your wasting your time trying to get a fair deal from the “v**s” fanzine"! interesting he chooses to call it the towns club, when it is obvious it is HIS club, and hes determined to keep it that way.

Have to say that in the last week or so it does seem that the Guardian have lost interest with WAFC, no match previews or write-ups, maybe there is an explanation? If Andrew Simpson does read this forum maybe he could shed some light?

To be fair to Andy Simspon, in recent weeks he has given us some coverage. The Titch back page for example. I also know that he speaks to Pritch on a regular basis - so the dialogue is definately there.

Vics have once again caused a huge story this season, and that has to be covered. If i was Andy then i suppose that is where i would concentrate also. The better his relationship with Jim Rushe, then the easier his access to Vics-related news.

On top of that, he is also covering the Town’s rugby clubs (one for there WHS!), bowls (and another), and cricket (and another! really, what are you complaining for!!). It can’t always be easy.

Do i think we get a fiar crack of the whip? No, not really. Do some of his Vics articles seem to forget that we exist? Abolutely. Do i think i could do a better job? Without a shadow of a doubt :woohoo:

I get annoyed when he goes away from home with them when we have a home game, i’m sure he has reasons for that and no doubt he will tell me if i ask him.

When we next have a fans information meeting maybe ANdy could give his side of the story? It’s been a sore point amongst Witton fans for a while now and really needs putting to bed.

He said some nice things about me in a recent programme article, so i can’t be too harsh on him. Anyway i wouldn’t want to make him cry into his green and white hankerchief…

Come on Andy, why aren’t we getting equal coverage??

If me and Robbbo agree it MUST be right!! Come on Mr. Simpson tell us, “Are you a Vics fan”.
WHS.

Well, last week’s report was typical.V**s’s loss got bigger coverage than our win.
I thought Mr.S was a green fan.As for Mr Rushe, long may he remain the head honcho across the canal.

The question is for Mr Simpson will they get more coverage when they are NWC Div 1 and we are Evostick premier - it wont be long now you better get thinking Mr S, well done Agent Rushe Your work is almost done !!!

He was on holiday last week I believe, which explains the lack of previews (he did apologise on Twitter).

Here is his Twitter account, if anybody is interested: https://twitter.com/#!/simmo_on_sport
(Can’t get the link to work, sorry)
You don’t need to sign up to view it.

Why he went to Kendal last night to see Vics getting thrashed when he could have made the shorter trip to Clitheroe to watch an exciting game, I don’t know. I even asked him, but no reply.

of course he is a v**cs fan,he supported them long before he became the sports editor, was involved with their website too.

Having a wanc is a great idea.

Im a Darlington fan and have faced a lifetime of having a local paper based in Darlington printing more about Newcastle and Sunderland than the mighty DFC. Life isn’t fair sometimes but simmo is not anti-Witton. He has a job to do and has an editor he has to keep happy.

So they get a few more column inches. Thats fine. At least Witton has a home.

Let’s not be haters as Hopefully next season we will be on a level playing field with them and then we should get equal coverage.

If we didn’t when we were in the same league then it would be time to ask questions.

SIMMO OUT!!!

We all know Albion Review has a far greater sales total than the NG so perhaps I should offer him a job on that!!!

Apparently he’s a Gillingham fan #whoknew

It seems the Guardian have gone very quiet on the future of Vics, perhaps they now accept they don’t really have one.
