The Northwich Guardian.

I have not bought the paper since you banned me Mr. Simpson. I for one believe in free speech as you can tell from the stick I get on here!!

Might be worth buying tomorrow

Save your money and buy a copy of Albion Review on Saturday!!!

In fact buy both!!!

Very intriguing, might see if I can borrow a copy off my neighbour.(He supports Vics!!).
WHS

Worth getting a copy yourself WHS. time to let it lie!!!

As in “to repose” or “to be economical with the truth”?

I “let it lie” ages ago but the Guardian still ban anything I contribute no matter what it is. It is our only local paper, well one you pay for, so when it bans free speech we should all be worried. Personally I am only sad that my reviews of local theatre no longer appear depriving these worthy groups the publicity they deserve. As for today’s Guardian, I think it is a fuss over nothing; without talking to and getting permission from our board the builders can do nothing. If they want to build us a new ground nearer the town centre I would like to know where they envisage that would be and I would also like to state right from the start that any idea in Vics fans heads that they can join us at this proposed new ground is a definite non starter. As for the local council helping Vics out the words “Over my dead body” come to mind! The rates we all pay can be better spent regenerating our dilapidated town centre.

Well at least one empty unit is now full

There is ample land at the bottom of Hargreaves Road near the Bethel Church for a new football ground, but I can’t see anywhere else that looks suitable.

Just bought the Guardian today, and Simmo has done us proud with some great coverage. He even put a box in the paper advertising Project 500 for Saturday. He’s also been at our last 2 home matches, and wrote the match reports for our official website.

I think he is a closet red!

Or perhaps he has realised Vics are a lost cause and he needs to get on the good side of the soon to be “Only team in town”!!

WHS why did you resurrect this topic about them 3 weeks after it was buried on here? Even then you told us no news about them even though a simple search of their forum (3 replies per page to make it look busy) could reveal the fragmented views of their supporters. We then get you telling us again the power of Simmo (the new paddy Mcguiness) in banning you from all things guardian and your freedom of speech being stopped. Firstly i doubt he has that power and the paper for whatever reason, has chosen not to print your letters or reviews and that is their decision. Secondly, for those of you that don’t view the guardian website, you will not be aware that you have an opportunity to reply to articles. Reading through a number of articles there appears to be a number of replies from a WHS,surely not the same WHS apparently banned in his own words, by the Guardian? Not quite banned then or being stopped from expressing yourself
That made me think about your theatre review problem. Can you not just ask them to publish them again, post them here or on their website?
I have to echo thatchs comment and agree that this weeks coverage is great for us but in general the coverage in the paper and online has got better and better as the season has gone on and any perceived imbalance of coverage has been addressed.

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!

Totally agree

Maybe WHS should just email them straight to Robbo. Think he would really appreciate that

Sorry, did not intend to upset anyone. I do get printed on their web site, but only just lately. Maybe they are turning over a new leaf, I will send them a couple of reviews and see what happens. Anyway great to see us dominating the headlines for a change. As for sending them here, not a bad idea!!!

(ONLY KIDDING ROBBO, see you Saturday God willing when I will have a couple of tickets off you as promised.)
WHS.

Agreed the Guardian coverage is more balanced of late.

Also think that their website is probably a little more important with regard to coverage of us than the paper. Lets be honest the paper is a third of the size it once was, and I imagine the readership has shrunk as well.

Now the downside of this weeks issue.

Imo the way it is laid out is a deliberate attempt to prompt debate and discussion on the merits of having two teams with the (non-story) of Witton relocating and V*cs lookin for a new ground being contained in the same pages.

Throw into that the fact that CWAC and Northwich Town Council (surely?)can’t be seen to support one team above the other and you have a whole basis for a merger/groundshare story coming next!

Also the article by MTB the other week was nothing short of scsndalous and the most biased article with Witton being effectively ruled out as being a team for the town.

Well said.
WHS.

Yes I thought it could well be a pre-cursor to putting pressure on cwac and public to only allow witton planning permission if the ground is shared

But it is not necassarily sense for Witton as we can afford to be self sufficient and that is because we have already put our house on order and been through the pain that them over canal need to now.
