The Northwich Guardian.

Totally agree with Cuddy and WWWitton.

Snap!
WHS.

I agree they are “oiling the wheels” to say a new ground should be shared…that would be an utter disgrace the way those slippery green so and sos have conducted thier affairs compared to us!! We should stay put and resist this hidden agenda with every red and white breath in our bodies!!!

Well on the bright side im sure we can all look forward to a Vics-free Northwich Guardian next season.

As they are no longer playing in the town (borough, or county), then i don’t see how their fortunes remain remotely connected to Northwich News?

I’m sure the Wimbledon Gazette doesn’t continue to waste column inches on MK Dons…

Well said Robbo.

Throw into that the fact that CWAC and Northwich Town Council (surely?)can’t be seen to support one team above the other and you have a whole basis for a merger/groundshare story coming next!

Didn’t see this weeks story coming!!!

Cllr Davies is a councillor of a tinpot insignificant and outdated organisation who was at one point preaching global domination of the sports training market, still waiting for that day!

TBH I think we could get Nigel Nutt elected onto the town council.

In fairness to Mr. Davies he has always been keen on promoting sport for the youngsters in our community, he may be totally wrong on this issue but he is basically a decent fellow.
WHS.

Please, any suggestion of getting Nigel elected to local council would be a terrible insult to dear Nigel N .Nigel is a warm hearted and caring person. He certainly is not a clown.

I don’t post on here very often but very dissapointed to read the comment above regarding Nigel from a fellow Wittoner. Onwards and upwards, together

As an ex native of Northwich but no longer living there I could’nt resist making a comment or two. Reading one of the replies to Councillor Davis’s article in the Guardian regarding groundsharing a Northwich fan said they could offer the lights and stand. Well, whoopie do!!! Not nearly enough by far…NOT EVEN CLOSE!!! …+ forgive me if I am incorrect but didn’t Witton offer their facilities to Vics for the commencement of this season and wasn’t it turned down flat? I hope that I am correct and if I am Councillors should get their facts correct before opening their mouths. One day they will learn. Clearly with the recent petrol scare they havn’t learned yet a while!!! I would suggest that Councillor Davis (Im sure that he is a magnificently well intended good fellow) and his team of Councillors should concentrate their efforts on regenerating the Town centre which is in my opinion a disgrace of epic proportion. The square in the centre of town just needs a little brushwood and it could be used to make a Clint Eastwood western in a deserted town. So, my words to the Town Council is people in glass houses!!!SBL

Have to agree with you Ledley, enough said.

The answer is very simple we can ignore them all, daft councillors, envious V**s fans, biased Graudian editors, most things at Witton are getting better day by day, a super team, super mgt who are Wittoners, super board, brilliant volunteers and a growing fan base and from our AGM notes debts that are under control and shrinking, they can all go and whistle, we will let you know if we have any interest elsewhere.

Great post CJ. I know we have a Beer Festival in May, have we any other things lined up? How about a Floodlit Cricket Knock-out on an artificial wicket during the summer, might interest the local cricket clubs. The short boundaries might make it great fun. I remember a game between Surrey and Arsenal taking place at their old Highbury Ground in the 1950’s, apparently it went down really well. I would be happy to offer my services as an umpire. It could even be a game between the first team and reserves or even include the supporters team, might be fun and make a few bob.

Thank you WHS. Its not often someone agrees with me!!!seriously though if us “laymen” can see the dire state of Northwich then the so called experts should as well! Also can someone help me? If you are coming down Castle Hill and want to go right and cross over the river which lane do you then get in to go left just after Cheshire Building Society???Scarey!!! Just another example in the careful planning of Northwich! SBL

You do what the do in France, come down in the right hand lane, indicate left and keep moving that way until someone gives way!! What would be a better solution for you is to come down Winnington Hill instead of Castle Hill then you are already in the right (left) lane. It’s a bit further but quicker none the less!

Do what most women do and guess, cut people up and smile - did i just write that down

I would have thought that both of you, SBL and WHS, would want to be in the White Hart Lane.

Brilliant posts. The same scenario also occurs when you go over the bridge in the right hand lane and want to go straight ahead. If you carry on in the right hand lane (as indicated by the road signs)and get as far as where the old gas tower used to be you are forced right going towards the old drillfield.(Heaven forbid). If you want to attempt to go straight on you run the risk of cutting someone up or waiting until some kind sole (like Mr Rushe)lets you in + its anyones guess which lane to be in when you reach the roundabout and say want to go right towards either The Chesterway pub or the station. Brilliant planning!!! ps love the White Hart Lane post. Received full planning for a new 60,000 stadium to be built over and around the existing ground but to retain the Bill Nicholson gates and other historical bits. Will be the finest stadium in GB. SBL

Needs to be bigger!! I think though we are getting off the original subject somewhat, has anyone anything new to say regarding you know who?
