The Run-In

Starting to pull into the home straight now and after yesterday’s win I can’t help but get completely carried away. :cheer:

10 league games to go:

Sat 16th Mar: Kendal Town (H) Currently 20th
Sat 23rd Mar: Rushall Olympic (H) Currently 6th
Sat 30th Mar: Stafford Rangers (H Currently 13th
Mon 1st Apr: Nantwich Town (A) Currently 15th
Sat 6th Apr: FCUM (A) Currently 4th
Tue 9th Apr: AFC Fylde (H) Currently 8th
Sat 13th Apr: Grantham Town (A) Currently 19th
Tue 16th Apr: Kendal Town (A) Currently 20th
Sat 20th Apr: Matlock Town (H) Currently 17th
Sat 27th Apr: Frickley Athletic (A) Currently 18th

Obviously, over the next few weeks, the table will continue to move all over the place. One thing that takes my attention is our last four games. We’re set to play some of the weaker teams in the league, although only a couple of them are in realistic danger of relegation. Also loving being away for three of the last four games, we should take big followings and make some noise.

It’s important that we get behind the players in the next three home games like we did yesterday, it clearly lifts them.

Come on lads, we can do this!

:clap

You are right, it looks a good run in but football has a tendency to kick you in the “Goolies” just when you think you are home and dry, ask Worksop!! Back to my hutch, may be sometime before I come out again you will be pleased to hear.
WHS.

Pretty good run-in to be honest, not easy but could be alot worse!

important that we pick up point(s) against Rushall, FCUM & Fylde

As easy as that final 4 games looks on paper, that’s a potential nightmare. Teams fighting for survival.

What i would give to see us relegate Frickley though…

Like we’ve already seen this season anyone can beat anyone on there day. We seem to be putting a run together at the right time.

Take it you wont be back for Frickley then coz i dont fancy us getting out alive if we did relegate them

Looks like a straight fight between us and Rushall for the final play off place so i was glad to see Rushalls final 3 games are
Home to FC United Sat APR27
Away to AFC Fylde Tues APR30
Away to Witton Albion Sat MAY4

Away to Buxton Sat APR20

I can’t find it anywhere - when is the play off final?

As the last fixtures are now on May 4th the semi finals must be in the week of 5th to the 10th May but they can hardly play the Final on the 11th, it is FA Cup Final Day!!
WHS.

Think playoff final is the Friday night

I’ve seen it somewhere as Friday 10th evening. Just can’t remember where I saw it!
Semi must be Tues 7th.

This is correct as far as im aware.

That said, Monday 6th May is a bank holiday so I wonder if clubs will consider moving a semi to a 3pm Monday kick off to try and get a bigger gate?

Thanks all.

Friday night is bad for me if we make it - 180 mile trip - I probably won’t be able to come.

:frowning:

Correct, although I remember reading that the league are happy for the fixtures to be played on slighly different dates should both clubs agree.

It could be at Hednesford in theory, if that helps

So is it 2nd play 4th and 3rd play 5th?

If so we will be away to FCUM on the Monday, then away to either Flyde or Hednesford on the Friday, that’s just my theory on how the league standings will finish. Happy days for me personally

Loving the optimism mate and i’m convinced we’ll be there but we’re going to have to be on the top of our game to beat any of the three other team’s there with us.

Its 2nd v 5th & 3rd v 4th and if 5th beat 2nd they will be away in the final to the winners of 3 v 4

It would be another awful decision by the League if it were to be played on a Friday night.

Consideration has to be made for the travelling supporters. A final should be given time to build throughout the day - it shouldn’t be a mad dash from work to wherever the game is being played.

Last season at Curzon wouldn’t have seen anything like the travelling army of Wittoners if it had been on a Friday night.
