On the strangled turkey site there is a topic about us that developed into the ground share question. So since this is on social networking sites,I thought it would be useful to put it on here for those non users!
If the current nvfc club was to go(agent rushe is doing fine) would witton fans vote to allow a supporter run new team (newco nvfc) to play at the H4H stadium as part of a ground share?
Be constructive as their fans will have somebody reading this page out to the masses and check the security on your user name otherwise you may go on a list
I think that seeing as the strong bond which has been built over the years between the clubs and fans it should be a definite NNNOOOOOO! why should we help those slimey green lizards out? They deserve everything they get for their arrogant disregard for paying of debts, let them sink the sooner the better! I have no security on my user name and hope to be put on said list, I stand proud when I say “DIE NORTHWICH VICTORIA, DIE!”
to the tune of row row row your boat
Row row row your boat,
Gently down to Stafford,
We’re the only team in town,
Northwich Vics are knackered.
Green and white parasites,
Nothing in the bank,
F**k off to Stafford,
You cheating pile of w@nk.
definately no ground sharing with northwich in any shape or form, their supporters have done nothing but to try and belittle our ground, so why should they be given the green light to play at the h4h stadium. they do not deserve to play at this stadium. they have dug their hole, so let them fill it in without any help from us. i have already stated that if they were to ground share with us i would not be watching my beloved witton, and, as it pains me to say , that is still the case. so please please let’s not even discuss this abominable idea. let’s just concentrate on the only team in northwich, and long may it be that way.
So now they are happy to play here at ‘The Swamp’, are they ?
Oh how the times change!!
As they tell you over drugs, “Just say NO”!!
WHS.
Unless things have changed, it was my understanding that we already had contracts in place with other teams to use our ground for at least the up coming season. If that is the case, then we should always look to renew those contracts at the end of each season long before we even contemplated allowing a new V**s to share with us.
Certainly last season when they were kicked out of Deloitte’s ground by Thor when they bought it, they couldn’t share with us simply because there was already a number of full fixture list for the use of the H4H up till the end of the season. If that is still the case for next season it is a moot point as to whether we WANT V**s to share with us, because unlike them, we don’t simply back out of contracts that we have signed.
End of, IMO.
Aside from the football being played on our ground its the obvious dodgy dealings that would come with them, which could get us caught up in. A definite no from me.
Definitely a no to anything involving Rushe/Mcanally or any other idiot of the same ilk, Maybe a bit more sympathy to a supporters run club but not long term and on balance probably still a NO let them survive but on lower and smaller footing than the Albs and at another ground.
No from me too!
On the face of it, it would make economic sense. Large crowds spending money in the club and tea bars. Surely a no brainer?
But then, hang on. We have been subject to years of ungrateful demeaning rhetoric from the vast majority of their fans. Yes, the vast majority. Once they were back on their high horse, not an ounce of gratitude for the last groundshare that pulled them out of the shite. The incessant name calling of “the swamp” (some of them have very short memories of the DF!) and oh yes, the steps on our terracing are too shallow (!)
What about sharing with a Fans run club? well, most of the above took place before Rushe was around, so ask yourselves who were responsible for all that garbage? The fans!
Do they still owe us money?
No to a ground-share
Please dont listen to or read whatever scums write or say.
It just winds people up,me included.
Just to clarify all our existing contracts on the ground are in place for the forthcoming season. The question is a simple yes or no to any newco nvfc team sharing our ground. The perception I have heard and seen from their fans is we are their preferred option, but judging by the answers on here and other social networking sites,is that is a view shared only by them and they have no idea how ILL the feeling is towards them! I also think that it is vital for all parties to see the actual feelings of witton fans before anything is proposed or discussed.
Any vics fans reading this feel free to let your lot the actual strength of feelings or post your own views on here, enough of us do on your site! Oh and please note the trickies nickname you nicked from us (ask toddy and wayne to look into their history)we want it back.
This is one thread that should not exist, the same way Vics should not exist. I would never forgive our club if it baled out Vics under any guise. Money? I would rather we played in the Sunday League than help them out. They hate us, name call us, we would be crazy to help them get back to their preferred position, lording it over us!
WHS.
We had a CVA (dark days indeed) and paid every penny 100%, they have a CVA and don’t pay a penny piece…HOW!
It’s a no from me!
Think we need to keep an open mind on this. If we have an AFC Northwich Vics with the people from their trust like James Wood and co running things without any links at all to Rushe, connett or any other so called business man then it might be slightly different. However if we are not convinced that a new club is going to be run by “Clean” people then its a no. At this stage though keep an open mind and see what happens if a Trust run club starts up and who is behind it. James Wood is a decent lad for sure its just that his mam and dad brought him up all wrong with green nappies(sorry James you were and are a decent lad really and a genuine fan)!!
As always in these things its whats best for Witton albion FC and I’m sure Mark and co would consult us before a decision is made anyway!!
As long as Vics aren’t playing in northwich anyone wanting to watch NPL level football will come to watch us. Therefore our best interests long term must be no. That way we can keep growing let them go to winsford or middlewich because they will have reduced crowds. They are very aware of this and now all of a sudden they want to be our friends, it’s only for there benefit.
By saying no to Vics we remain the only club in the town, increasing our chances of enticing future families in Northwich into becoming Wittoners. We watch Vics slowly fade away and go from strength to strength, but are we really going to deny ourselves the chance to move higher up the ladder just prevent them surviving?
Say yes to Vics and we increase our bank balance. Who knows, after a couple of years with higher budgets it could propel us back to the Conference North. Although who performs the duties around the ground when Vics play at W.P? People would miss out on watching the Albs away. It also means we have a huge threat to our ambitions of becoming ‘the’ club in the town.
There’s big advantages and disadvantages to both outcomes. The decision untimately belongs to the board. Whatever decision they make I’ll be right behind them, I trust them to do what is best for Witton Albion FC.
I cannot see how helping out ANY team called “Northwich” would help out Witton, certainly not in the long term. We might get some rent out of it but we would be feeding a potential competitor for local support which for me makes no sense whatsoever. They have nowhere to go, let’s leave it like that.
WHS.
talking about competitors, i remember northwich blocking our atempts on several occasions of getting into the northern premier league in seasons past. we should not forget this, and be like they were in that respect and aim to be not only the best team in northwich, but the ONLY team. what goes round comes roun. we should NEVER help them out now or ant time in the future.
The bridges are burnt.Let’s talk no more about it.
