To share or not to share

vi8 has said it all, forget them, they are history.

it carnt do any harm in talking to the new vics, one never knows what could come out of
the talks.

as bt keep telling us, its good to talk.

TONNEE, WRONG! WRONG! WRONG! You don’t talk to the enemy and if you don’t believe they are the enemy read what they have said and done to us in the past. Leopards don’t change their spots.

As ever its an emotive issue, however the V**s that we have dealt with and probably never will again will die before long, so it is the new club which we should be thinking about and they may be a completely different proposition, most of the previous bad blood came from the board level eg Connett And Rushe etc (plus a small minority of fans ) so a newco club lead by a supporters trust would be a different animal and would be in in the NWC league probably, so we would be in a strong position, having said all that I trust the board to review it at the time and come to the shareholders with any proposition, it having been well thought out before then, so a decision can then be taken based on the actual facts rather than from a position of history, Rhetoric and emotion, No decision will be needed for some time so lets leave it for the board to manage and lets get on with supporting the Albs.

Well said CJ. But I will pull you up on one point. There were many shenanigans (good word!) going on before Connett and Rushe infested the place!

shenanigans: plural of she·nan·i·gans (Noun)
Noun:
Secret or dishonest activity or maneuvering.
Silly or high-spirited behavior; mischief.

Ed, Of course by there very nature the slimy greens will never be as honest or as true as Witton are, but you must agree Connett and Rushe set a whole new standard in Sliminess, and dont get me wrong I still hate them and would only consider anything to do with them if it is wholly in the best interests of Witton Albion with everything considered. UTA

It’s our best interests to let them die

I hate v*cs, the colour gr**n and after all… THEY MAKE ME PUKE!!

Thats the point they wont die - they will reform, so the question is should we attempt to profit from this in the short to medium term to help Witton or let them go alone which they will do and probably help winsford or someone else with income thats the dilemma we will face im sure.

I personally don’t want us to have anything to do with v*cs whether it be the current lot or a newco. However, as has been mentioned earlier in the thread, if there is any benefit for us to be gained from allowing a newco to use our ground then it must be considered. If it’s a no no then fair enough - at least it would have been considered and could be put to bed.

We should be very proud of our board, they are brilliant and will always have the best interests of our club at heart we should be very thankful for that. I trust them 110% with big decisions that they may need to make. We all have our opinions but decisions on issues like this are their call at the end of the day.

Sound OTT and please forgive me but dirty money comes to mind if we deal with them.I won’t go as far as blood diamonds that will be mega OTT.

If we allow Vics to use our ground in the NWC say next season, with their support they will be in the Evo Stik League North within two seasons and will almost certainly have had a cup run in one or other of the FA competitions. Consequently our support will not go up significantly. If on the other hand we do not help they will be playing on either a ground that is not up to Evo Stik standards or so far away from Northwich as to weaken their support severely. In either case they will take many years to ever get up to Evo Stik standard again, if at all. Meanwhile any uncommitted supporters in the area will be watching us. I say “NO WAY JOSE” to sharing ANYTHING with Vics under whatever guise.
WHS.

There support is not massive now, and in the NWC will be even smaller, and as a trust run club with little assets paying rent they will not have a huge wage bill ( I believe they expect to live within there means ) so will climb back slowly aka Runcorn, meanwhile Witton will have a higher position, better income and probabaly better gates as it should be , however im still not sure but i would expect the board to be open to discussions at least.

in reply to cj’s post, all the animosity was not in the connett and rushe eras, but long before then. it was in the 1970s when northwich on sevral occassions vetoed witton’s application for entry into the northern premier league. so i say yet again no to northwich in any shape or form. they are still the same supporters who revelled in that decision. so it has got to be NO or support will be lost.

No reply from any of their fans I see! Surprising since they are viewing this and are taken aback at the response I believe!

I sympathise with the extreme views on here about Vics and that we should have nothing to do with them. I do think that you are letting past history cloud your viws though. Keep an open mind about this and if there are opportunities for Witton Albion FC to increase revenue without any threat whatsoever then it has to be considered at least. Like everyone else I have faith in Mark and Co to make the right decision for us. If it was a new club run by decent people then it would be a long term groundshare not 2 seasons but possibly 5 to 10 years but it has to be with no Rushe. connet or other dodgy person involved.Mark would make sure of this anyway and would not enterany agrrement that was dodgy. Just keep an open mind and see what develops. Under the present Northwich regime though its a big no way from me.

My Sentiments entirely Mona

You let them in then they get another “Rushe”, going to then throw them out? They want success and will do anything to get it, let them find their own salvation.
