To share or not to share

Planning committee agrees unanimously that Thor can expand site.

Its a no brainer with Thor promising more jobs so no council is going to turn them down for the sake of a football club that actually owes them 15K in council tax anyway!! I guess the only cloud on the horizon now is what happens with us if a housing development by some miracle should go ahead.
We are sitting pretty though with this because if we stay we can tap into potentially more revenue from the new houses. Our land price can only go up in value if a development goes ahead so hanging on is the right approach because we win either way. The way our club has been run over the last 15 years or so has been brilliant with first Mike Worthington and now Mark though I prefer the latter because he is a football man as well as a great chairman with great people skills and I guy I now consider a friend too!!
So its ONWARD and UPWARD with Northwich’s only semi pro community football club!!
The future is bright the future is right with Witton Albion FC!!

Thor has offered the council £350k plus proceeds from the sale of the stadium assets.

I thought that the league have annonuced that Stafford is where they will play.? but at the end of the day it would be for our Board to give the green light (forgive the pun) about ground sharing with Vics. We trust their decisions. From a comercial point of view (all things being equal) it might be a good economic proposition however, the fact of the matter is that they appear to be megashort of dollar. I would expect that upfront payments would have to be made or “pay as you play” (No pay no play) arrangements at least. Why is it that Northwich Villa are having to travel to Flixton to play rather than at say Winsford on their dorstep? Might it be that they too wanted guarentees for advance payments. I don’t know.SBL

Just watched the meeting.

As I saw it:-

Reg stated to the meeting that Witton Albion will not be moving.

Planning permission was passed for THOR to develop their land for storage of chemicals.

Although nearly everybody spoke against it, outline planning permission was granted for 1050 houses to be built in Wincham.

It was noted that building on Wincham Park was part of phase 3, currently not due to start for 5-6 years, but that this phase will have to be reviewed, now that Witton have stated they will not be moving.

Here’s a thought; how about the council putting in the £350,000 plus what they get for the sale of the floodlights etc and give us a nice plot of land in the town to build our own new stadium on. We sell to the developers for a massive amount and “Bob’s your Uncle”. Daydreaming? they are more likely to give the lot to Mr. Rushe!!
WHS.

Well, WHS, it seems that the groundswell of opinion on the V**s forum seems to think that the money given to CWAC by Thor should go towards a new ground for THEM!

I no longer live in CWAC, but I would be mightily miffed to say the least, if my councils’ funds were spent on funding any football team, let alone the snakes!

Perhaps the money should go to the poor saps who they owe money to. If the council even consider the idea I think we should picket the council offices. If they want to give the money away to football, half to Vics, half to Witton will do nicely!
WHS.

Why should CWAC bail out a private company that has gone bust?

Surely the money should go to community sports projects, that shouldn’t include Witton and/or V**s

THOR have donated the money to the council because of the loss of a playing field not a stadium. The money by rights should go back into creating another playing field or similar, certainly something the whole community can use rather than the privileged few.

TOTALLY AGREE.

JR is on the Non League show at 6.45 if anybody’s interested.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/iplayer/radio/bbc_radio_manchester/listenlive

Jim Rushe is running late for his interview, not like him to forget to do something nono

Jr missed his time slot! Whose fault will it be? Bbc,the trust, the osc,his phone, the cva,the administrator or somebody else? Just say NO to any joint venture

Reckon he got upset at them talking about the club being doomed earlier and went mooney
