I think it’s a good move, shows that the club are taking things seriously and not afraid to take a big decision. Hopefully the next stage moves as quickly as possible so that a decision can be made and we can all move forward and put this behind us.
I just hope that he’s still a Witton player at the end of it all !
Absolutely agree.
Fully support the club in this action.
Surely he could still train with the first team? Doesn’t have to play in friendlies, I don’t see the point him not getting fit for the new season, if he remains a Witton player we want him fit for the new season, surely?
the club have made the right decision. they are taking the situation seriously and must be seen to be doing so. i fully back the club in whatever the impending result, it is an unenviable position for the club to be in. maybe we should be making plans to be without sean for the coming season. however i do hope he remains a witton player, and hope that this situation is resolved sooner rather than later. i stress that he is a quality player and just hope that he learns from this experiencece. good luck sean and i still hope to see you in the witton shirt for years to come.
The club I supose had little choice but to carry out the action they did. No different than any other business would. Not the best preparation for the new season I guess? Personally, I hope Shaun remains at the club, keeps us all entertained and scores hatfuls of goals. The moral of the story is be careful what you post on social network sites! SBL .veryangry
Moral of the story is quite simple, don’t break the law. Don’t forget all the hard work both on and off the pitch that has given us our good name. Few people on here seem quite happy to throw that away. Worrying!!
Im pleased to see there is still many Wittoners who want Tuck at the club next season, hes admitted he was stupid and never intended to carry out any of his tweets, hes learned from this experiance and just wants to get back to playing football! he loves Witton and the fans and its upsetting to see some fans turn on him for a few hours of madness!
Hes our top scorer and came 3rd in the supporters player of the year, hes daft as a brush and a really nice lad, if Witton were to sack him he would be snapped up by another club in this league believe me!
I cannot see what else the club could do, if you make a statement on these sites you have to stand or fall by them, you all know I have said things that maybe I shouldn’t have though not to this degree. Apology’s are fine but the words were there in print and they no doubt hurt many people. I do hope Sean gets past this and I hope the club take into account his age and the reason he posted his message, he was angry, as we all were about the death of the young soldier, sadly he chose to voice that anger on a website, I am sure he has learned his lesson but what a club with the ethics that Witton have do now is difficult and I am glad I do not have to make that decision.
WHS.
I think WHS has summed this up perfectly. Yes there are lots of wittoners who want Tucker to remain at the club. Soz Woody but i am one of them. To put it into context I’m sure that there are alot of footballers out there (still playing) who have done a lot worse things than Shaun did. Remember that young goalkeeper who wiped that family out in a driving accident Bristol way and the countless number who have been done for drink driving, fighting or biting even! Still playing course they are!!! Yorkshire Red is right, there will be many clubs who would snap him up SBL
As I have said before our club has a wonderful reputation both locally and nationally, we are viewed by many as how I semi professional club SHOULD be run. And that is the problem our Board now faces, risk that reputation or lose a really good player, as I said I am glad I don’t have to make that decision.
WHS.
I hope that whatever happens, fans on both sides of the fence, and those sitting on it, respect the board’s decision.
As WHS says its not an easy one to make but some fans are going to disagree with it. Let’s all respect it, accept that Mark and the directors will consider everything and come to a decision that they think is best for the club.
Being a Wittoner is great, and we’ll all be here long after the current squad have gone, so whatever happens I hope we can all respect the decision and continue to get behind the lads.

Anyone that Follows him would know (but have apparently forgotten) that this was the latest in a long LONG line of sickening posts and comments that he made. I for one am surprised it has not been commented on before (and saddened if it’s just been ‘ignored’…) and he has previously got away with it. IMO he tarnished the reputation of the club a long time ago…
I like Shaun Tuck personally and I hope he stays, we have all made stupid mistakes in life I for one maybe more than most, it’s what you learn from them that counts, a second chance and move on in my opinion
I agree 100%, Shawn knows hes made a mistake and i believe he has learnt from it so hopefully he will be banging goals in for us again next season
Kobra is i believe up to no good, first post ever suggests a fan of a rival club up to mischief by posting on here as a Witton fan!!
He still hasn’t apologised for what he’s said or for the damaging the clubs reputation. Don’t think some of you are realising just how serious this is.
I do hope you are right Yorkshire Red about Kobra but if not it puts an entirely different light on the matter. Does anyone know if what Kobra says is true?
WHS.
It’s likely Kobra is an FC United fan. They seem to have an obsession with us at the moment, not just about this issue but many other things to do with Witton Albion.
I think it’s cos we forgot they are a massive club with loads of fans and they should be playing in a much higher league than this.
WHS i believe Kobra is an FC United fan and is refering to Tweets that Shaun made after the play off semi final where FC fans gave Shaun dogs abuse including sick comments about the death of his parents! he gave them a bit of stick back but nothing to cause alarm!
Its a true fact that Shaun had far more FC United fans following him than Witton fans and this goes back to his days as a Marine player!
