Today's Announcement

It seems to be mainly the younger Wittoners (under 35’s) who want Tuck sacked, i have a theory why this is the case…
Maybe despite trying for 12 months they still cant find a Stone Roses song they can sing with Tucks name

Your right Graham, I personally don’t think Shaun would apologise without the club making it part of some ultimatum, you wouldn’t say/write something unless that’s what you believed/thought. I feel that he now regrets how he aired his opinions, but not necessarily what his opinion is.
#Team_Tuck :-)
So are you agreeing with his opinions?
Hang on a minute, I never said that I agreed! All Iam saying is I want Tuck to stay!

An Iam under 35 Yorkshire Red, I just feel some people have a much stricter view on these issues that’s all.

I’ve got one but it’s not safe for work

I’m 36 today so now i’m really confused

Ok let’s turn this around! If tuck was Muslim and said what he did about white British people would you still want him to stay?

This is no longer anything to do with football so don’t you all think we should just stop now? I don’t believe anyone on here is really racist so let’s not start accusing people or trying to state our SLIGHTLY different views.

Happy birthday mate :goal

You can tell there’s not much going on regarding transfers because this is getting tedious. It’s quite simple really, Shaun has made a massive mistake which we need to let the club deal with (whether Shaun agrees with it or not). “Kobra” has decided to wind the situation up and a lot of wittoners are now taking it to another level (talking about religion, racism etc…) All we are doing is bringing more bad attention to the club by allowing this discussion to continue. Lets just draw a line under it now and let the club do what it does best and sort this situation out!

Lets move on
Those who have not been to the club for a while are in for a huge shock at the transfornation thats taken place, the sponsors lounge is now a bright welcoming room with its own bar! The main room has a new colour scheme with new carpets (from V**s), a new food serving area and a DJ booth.
Jim Powell along with his helpers have worked wonders putting in endless hours of free work to make the clubhouse the envy of many bigger clubs!
Roll on the new season
See you all at Barnton on the 16th
UTA

To the last two writers, well done, let us all move on.
WHS.

The Club are stuck between a rock and a hard place on this one as if they don’t sack Shaun certain other clubs will never let it lie and if we do sack him another club will snap him up and say something like… ‘everyone deserves a second chance and we are the club to provide him with the support he needs etc.’

When you read the tweets Shaun made they are vile horrible comments and I don’t agree with them in the slightest. However they are nothing worse than I have heard before from friends, people in the pub ranting etc…and when people make these kind of comments usually some of their mates will just say ‘Don’t be a small minded nob head’. No one picks up their phone and calls the police. The comments are taken for what they are, stupid small minded rants.

The difference is that these comments were posted on a social networking site which means that unlike in a face to face where you can read the body language, there is no context applied and so people make their own minds up about whether it was a mindless rant or a genuine call to arms. I am sure the politicians who voted the social networking laws in are already regretting it because as usual they are being applied on a far greater scale than the original intention. A young lad got locked up for making a sick joke! Ok he was a stupid nob head but if we locked up all the stupid nob heads in this country then we would all be at risk of being locked up as we are all nob heads sometimes and anyone that denies it is a nob head.

Personally I don’t like what Shaun said but I am not convinced that people should be arrested every time they make offensive remark

BUT it is against the law, it is serious and for Witton Albion FC it is very difficult:

 • Do nothing and get accused of condoning the comments
 • Sack him and lose a great lad and great footballer

A compromise way out would be to not sack him but act to show that Witton Albion FC are there to both:

 • Care for and support players on and off the pitch rather than discard them at the first sign of trouble
 • Demonstrate through actions that as a Club, Witton Albion and Shaun support all local communities. Perhaps something could be done with Northwich Muslim Cultural Centre to show that we are not a small minded, small town club.
