Trafford FC v. Witton Albion

Witton make the relatively short trip to Trafford on Saturday in a Northern Premier League West Division fixture.

The Manchester-based club have recently appointed former player Tom Baker as successor to Karl Marginson and performances have shown some improvement.

The corresponding fixture last season saw Witton come away from Shawe View with a 2-1 win, courtesy of goals from Nick Hepple and James Hooper.

The meeting at the U Lock It Stadium earlier this season saw Trafford pick up their first point of the season in a 1-1 draw, with Matt Davies giving Trafford the lead on the hour before Joe Duckworth equalised for the Albion with around 20 minutes to go.

A number of missed chances proved costly to Witton as they certainly had enough opportunities to win the game.

Games against Trafford are always very competitive and they are difficult opponents, this game could prove to be no different.

Kick off at Shawe View is 3pm.

Just a slight query.

Will Ben Dufton-Kelly be suspended following his red card against Bury? I’m not sure what punishment he received.

He didn’t play last week so I assume that was his one match ban

Yes was told he received a one match ban for professional foul and Edwards was a one match ban for 5 bookings. UTA
