Two more signings...

ADAM WARLOW

Despite big money offers to Adam from, amongst others, Burscough, Southport and Harrogate Town, Adam Warlow tonight signed contract forms for 2007/8 for the Albion. Another excellent re-capture and a valuable piece to the jigsaw.

BRIAN PRITCHARD

Ended speculation that he was going to join nobody else by signing again for the Albion. He is hoping that this will be his last season for Witton…

…in the Unibond Premier Division.

More news over the weekend. Stay tuned.

Graham

The good news keeps on coming…

That is immense - never easy to find someone who can score 20+ goals a season, Warlow can do that. Fantastic stuff. And Pritch - well, what can you say that hasn’t already been said?

That is absolutely fantastic! I thought Adam would be odds on to join Burscough or Southport due to him living in Southport. It speaks volumes about the impression all involved with running the club made on Adam and his family last season. Great work. Do do do…

Excellent news.

Looks like Jim has done it again. This side will be even stronger than last season.

Makes Griff’s and Connors decisions even more unbelievable.

Fabulous news.

Adam was the league’s third top scorer last season with 30 goals, that makes him a huge signing for us especially up against the competition. If the lad bags another 30 this season HE WILL play in the football league the season after. He will get noticed more playing for us than he would have done in Iceland. In my opinion Ad’s just needs a bit more body strength when he is on the ball, he knows how to finish!

Pritch! There is nothing I can add that has not been said before. Cut him in half and it would say ‘Witton’. You can tell how important he is for us by the stick he gets from other fans!!! Without him last year we would have been 10 points behind where we finished! Players and Fans Player of the Year, he is getting better every season! After the play-off game the Telford fans posted on their message board that they would love to sign our No 4. If anyone deserves us to be promoted next season it’s Brian. With the greatest of respect to Tom S I would hand Pritch the armband next year, not sure it will happen but I can see no better leader on the pitch.

GE says more news over the weekend, is there any truth in the rumour that Mike Worthington was seen chatting to Andriy Shevchenko after the Wembley game last week? We might be able to give him a few more starts than he gets at Chelsea!

Well done to Jim and the club again!

The only negative with Adam is I don’t think he will finish the season with us I’m pretty sure someone will snap him up like Shaun Whalley but at least we will get something for him and in the mean time hopefully he can give us a fantastic start to the season. I heard he was struggling with an injury towards the end of the season which might well have counted against him when Crewe came to have a look, but their loss is our gain, a great signing

Pritch… what can you say that hasn’t been said I wouldn’t be surprised if he gets an OBE from the Queen soon for showing loyalty and dedication above and beyond the call of duty! now theres a thought how would we get that campaign going!

Picko that’s a storming idea, a campaign to get Pritch an OBE, love it - that would be so amusing! Don’t get me wrong I think it is bloody justified compared to may that receive them. I can just see Pritch at the Palace with the Queen!!!

Regards Ad’s, not going to start worrying about him going yet as the ink is not yet dry on his contract. If/when it happens we will only be in a better position to deal with it! Clubs like ours need to keep finding the next Whalleys and Warlows. Just need to look at out for good frontmen with surnames beginning with ‘W’

;D

MBE sounds more feasible having looked at the honours system;

MBE: Service in and to the community of a responsible kind which is outstanding in its field; or very local ‘hands-on’ service which stands out as an example to others. In both cases awards illuminate areas of dedicated service which merit public recognition.[br]Posted on: May 25, 2007, 11:10:03 AM
From the cabinet office website;

Nominations
How do I nominate someone for an honour?
Visit our how to nominate pages to learn how to nominate someone for a national honour.

How long does it take for my nomination to be processed?
Nominations need to be well supported and checked carefully. The process of verifying one of the thousands of cases received each year takes between 12 and 18 months to complete thoroughly. It is, therefore, important to nominate individuals while they are still active, so that they can be honoured while they are still undertaking the activities for which they have been nominated.

What kind of people should I try to nominate for an honour?
The honours system recognises people from many backgrounds, all of whom have done very different types of work. Guidelines and specimen cases are available in the nominations section. You may also find it helpful to study the lists when they are published every six months and to read any newspaper articles that appear (in your local paper) at this time.

Should I tell the person that I have nominated them?
No. It is not fair to raise the nominee’s expectations in case they are disappointed.

Do I have to say what sort of honour I think is due?
No. The Ceremonial Secretariat will decide this so your candidate can then be compared with similar cases.

How will I know if my nomination is successful?
If successful the name of your candidate will appear in The London Gazette at the New Year or on The Queen’s official birthday (June).

Can I submit another form if my nomination is unsuccessful?
Yes, but you ought to try to strengthen your case before trying again. There is no point in re-nominating until two years after your original nomination was made. It is also advisable to contact the Ceremonial Secretariat and see what happened to your previous nomination

During the day before signing, Pritch had spent his time painting the physios room at the club.

I thought I couldn’t recognise Pritch’s signature. Now I can tell - it’s Brian Picasso. ;D
