So 11 signed up so far and maybe to come some of :

Ryan swift, Jon Dawson,Luke Clark, Zak Corbett, Alex Titchener, Andy Fowler and Josh Hancock, if we can muster most of that Squad plus whoever else Scott can find we could have a squad to be challenging, on paper any way UTA

Hopefully know a bit more in the next few days but I should imagine that we could be looking at a squad of around 18 - 20. One thing that we must surely try and avoid next season are lack of depth on match days. A few games last season saw us having to use players from the reserves, nothing against them but it was clear we lacked strength in depth at times.

Cannot see us having a squad of 20, more likely to be 15 and the reserves with the finances we have. The “Arabs” money whilst tainted in my view will of course help.
WHS.

With the 11 already confirmed and others still to discuss terms, I was thinking a squad of around 18 might be necessary. On a number of occasions last season we went into games without a full compliment on the bench and I think we suffered for that at times. I would imagine we need a squad of 16 for league games and then although we don’t have to name them all, you can name up to seven subs for FA Cup ties.

Maybe 20 was a bit over the top but I would expect us to need around sixteen most games.

What we need mate and what we can afford maybe two different things. The Board are sensible, they never let us get out of our depth moneywise.
WHS.

No manager in his right mind would run with a squad of 15 ( sully excepted ) at this level with suspensions, injuries and work commitments you have to have at least 18 including 2 keepers and preferably 20 even if a couple of these are fairly young back ups leaning there trade as it were but ready to be given a chance!

Some fantastic news for the club, Zac Corbett has signed for Colwyn Bay

No announcements should be posted until I get confirmation from the club!

It was on Twitter by Zac himself, bit dramatic to be honest

That is not the point, you should’ve kept that info under wraps until an official announcement was made by the club.

To be honest once it’s posted by the player or by the new club on social media it’s fair game to post on here of course the club can still post it formally for confirmation this is the supportes forum after all so gossip rumour news etc is fine on here for me that’s what it is for.

Get a grip Derek. You’re just miffed you didn’t post it first!

Also add that I would have been suprised to see Zak get in our first 11 - he did cost us a lot of goals and gave crucial pens away, but he was young and à good athlete not such a good footballer though but good luck to him.

Nothing to do with that! Too often in the past, people have picked things up from social media and other means and posted them.
Official announcements of players coming & going should be made by the club. I knew about Sam Barnes going but didn’t announce it until the club confirmed it.

I understand if we’re trying to sign someone and we want to keep it under raps but if someone’s leaving then who cares when and where they hear it?

This was highlighted the other day when Sam Barnes posted on twitter that he was leaving, before he had even told the club.

That’s my point! If they don’t want to play for Witton then why should we care when they go or who gets to say when they’ve gone.

Well, let’s draw a line under it now and work towards channelling our efforts towards next season.

Didn’t rate him to be honest.
