Witton Albion v. Bootle

Witton return to league action on Saturday afternoon when they welcome Bootle in a re arranged Northern Premier League West Division fixture.

The Bucks began the season well and led the table for a short while but a lack of games in recent weeks, combined with other teams results, has seen them slip to fifth.

Early exits from both the Emirates FA Challenge Cup and the Isuzu FA Challenge Trophy at the hands of Merseyside neighbours City of Liverpool FC, has meant a few days without games.

The two meetings between the two teams last season saw the points shared as both games were drawn.

Witton are still looking for their first league win against the Bucks after four games, three draws and a narrow defeat so far.

New additions in recent weeks in Kevin Spinelli who came on for his debut during last Saturday’s Emirates FA Challenge Cup win at Crook Town and latest recruit Mamadou Djabi from Northwich Victoria, will hopefully boost the forward line and add goals to the team.

Games against the Bucks have always been closely contested and the latest encounter could be another one in that vain.

Witton are sitting in tenth place in the table going into the game but have at least two games in hand on the teams above them, three games in some cases.

Kick off at the U Lock It Stadium is 3pm.
