Witton Albion v. City of Liverpool FC

Pre season was eventful if disappointing but that’s behind us now as the club begins a new chapter.

Witton kick off the new season as they finished the last one when they take on City of Liverpool FC in a Northern Premier League West Division fixture.

The two sides met on the final day of last season with both teams in with a chance of making the play offs but a draw was enough to see the Merseyside club pip Albion on goal difference.

Changes during pre season mean Witton begin the campaign under the guidance of caretaker manager Ben Harrison assisted by Mike Alcock, Paul Houghton and James Lawrie, who have worked tirelessly to assemble a team in such a short space of time.

Players have departed and new arrivals have come in numbers as Witton face a tough challenge but it’s a test that we are ready for and face It in the only way we can.

We welcome new signings Charlie Duke, Kyle King, Eli Fisher and Ben Crane amongst others and wish them well in their careers at the club and feel sure that they will give everything for the club.

There are also some familiar faces returning to the club in Vani DaSilva, Lee Jackson and Harry McGee giving the interim management team competition for places.

It is going to take a bit of time for the team to gel and to get to know each other’s game but hopefully they can make a positive start and begin the next phase of the club in a positive manner.

Well here we go all change at the Albs, no idea of the team with the lack of games and recent changes but really looking forward to the Ben era.

Best of luck lads. UTA

Couple of goals and a clean sheet and we’ll be all smiles.

Anyone travelling to the game on Saturday please note, there is no access from Warrington Road due to road works on Chapel Street.

The only access will be from the Wincham end of the road, turning by the derelict Black Greyhound.

Despite roadworks nuisance, things at Witton are looking better already.

I was feeling quite despondent just before Ben and Jim took over. However three good signings this week have lifted the mood and the situation looks so much better.

Good luck to all.

Wow with all the comings and goings ( sadly losing Cam Fogerty) I decided to have a go at the team lol

I might be miles away but it looks ok to me. UTA
