Witton Albion v. Darlaston Town 1874

Another first for Witton on Tuesday night when they welcome new-boys Darlaston Town 1874 in a Northern Premier League West Division fixture.

The West Midlands-based club have begun life in the league with mixed results but have only played two games so far.

An excellent away victory at Trafford was followed by a home defeat to Stafford Rangers but it’s early days and they’re still adapting to life in a new league.

Last season saw them finish seventh in the Northern Premier League Midlands Division but they were placed in the West Division for this season.

Their involvement in the Emirates FA Challenge Cup is over for another year, following their defeat to Pershore Town at the very first stage.

Witton negotiated another tricky tie on Saturday against AFC Liverpool at the U Lock It Stadium and were comfortable winners in the end after a difficult opening few minutes.

Goals have come freely in the cup so far with new signing Freddy Garbutt already showing his potential, and Witton will be hoping that he can take that form into the league games.

Darlaston Town will pose a different set of problems for Ben Harrison and his charges so they will be putting plans in place to hopefully overcome that.

Three points are much-needed for the Albion as they look to put a winning run together, but they will have to earn the result as Darlaston Town will be tough opponents.

Kick off at the U Lock It Stadium is 7.45pm.

One thinks this is a must win to kick start our league form and to get us up the table, Darlaston have had mixed results also so maybe winnable!

Team-wise quite a hard selection, but I think with the players we have a 5 3 2 might be our best option

Terry
Baillie, Ebhote, Langley, Bembo-Leta, Fleming
Brazel, Edwards
Harrop
Garbutt, Duckworth

Obviously Hoyle is an argument over Duckworth and maybe Farrall over Baillie who isn’t on his best form, and heard Jones is maybe injured but good luck to whoever plays. UTA
