Witton face a big test on Saturday afternoon when they welcome Prescot Cables to the U Lock It Stadium in a Northern Premier League West Division fixture.

Cables had been enjoying an excellent season and were right up there with leaders Leek Town for a long period, but a run of three games without a win has seen them them slip back slightly in recent weeks.

They are still amongst the challengers for a play off spot but their chances of the title are less likely than they were, following their narrow home defeat to Leek recently.

Witton will be looking to continue the recent form which has propelled them into the play off picture, and they will also hope to avenge the 4-1 defeat suffered on Merseyside earlier in the campaign.

Amongst the Cables scorers that day were former Albion midfielder Jay Foley, and he will be one of a number of familiar faces that Witton could come up against once again.

Striker John Murphy poses a big threat to the Albion defence and has netted eighteen goals this season so far but, he is just one player that Witton will have to be wary of.

There are also players within the Witton squad who could also have a big bearing on the game namely, leading scorer Connor Hughes and also Elliot Rokka along with Joe Duckworth.

Witton have also added to their squad with the signing of midfielder Jimmy Garlick, who arrives from Kidsgrove Athletic and he will add a competitive edge to the team as the season reaches its conclusion.

This will certainly be a tough game hopefully for both sides and Witton will be looking to pick up the right result but they’ll need to perform in order to achieve it.

This should be a cracker both in top form and Witton wanting revenge after getting battered at Prescot ?

Team wise if everyone is fit I’d go with

Roberts
Koral, Lowton Harrison, Kennerly
Fogerty Newell Lawrie
Brazel
Rokka, Hughes

Rumours of a new signing might change things and Pope’s recent form might bring him in but not sure he’s fit enough for 90 minutes yet.

Best of luck to all the lads today. UTA.
