Witton look to make it five wins on the bounce when they welcome Shifnal Town to the U Lock It Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The Shropshire club have had a mixed season so far, having good spells earlier in the campaign but have now won only once in their last eleven games.
Their last outing saw them beaten at home by Chasetown in midweek so will be looking to address that in this game.
The current league table sees the two teams only separated by goal difference although the Salopians do have a game in hand.
The reverse fixture back in November, the first ever league meeting between the two, saw Witton on the wrong end of a 3-2 defeat with all the goals coming in the first half.
A brace from Matthew Barnes-Homer and another from Jack Loughran secured the points in Town’s favour, despite Joe Duckworth and Aaron Fleming netting for the Albion.
Witton will be hoping for a different outcome from Shifnal’s previous visit to Northwich back in the 1982/83 season when the two teams met in the an FA Cup Third Qualifying round tie at the Central Ground, with the Shropshire club winning 2-0.
One player who will not be featuring for Witton is midfielder Ben Lowe following his move to North West Counties Premier Division Chadderton.
His playing time at the Albion was limited so it’s the right decision for him to get more games on a regular basis.
With just seven games to go before the end of the season, Witton will be looking to finish as high as they can and today’s game can go a long way to achieving that although Shifnal won’t make things easy for them.
Kick off at the U Lock It Stadium is 3pm.
