Witton begin their Emirates FA Challenge Cup campaign on Saturday afternoon, when they welcome Midland League Premier Division Tividale in a Preliminary Round tie.

Results have been a mixed bag so far league-wise with a draw and a defeat so the cup gives Witton the chance to focus on other matters at least for the day.

Tividale arrive in Cheshire having overcome fellow Midland Leaguers Darlaston Town in the Extra Preliminary Round a fortnight ago, winning comfortably 4-0 away from home so Jon Macken knows that his side will face a tough encounter.

It will take a few games for the new-look Albion side to become accustomed to everyone’s strengths but, they have shown glimpses in the games so far and will be looking to progress in the biggest domestic competition in English football.

Witton team news & latest score updates will appear here as and when they become available.

With this being the FA Cup, the result is the be-all and end-all, although it would be nice to hear that the team is showing signs of starting to gel.

Unfortunately not the best conditions for football with a strong, gusty wind forecast. I’d settle for a scrappy, even a lucky win, obviously a flowing performance with a few goals would be better!
Best of luck lads.

Team news: Witton make two changes to the starting line up beaten by Glossop North End in midweek. Kingsley Williams & Vani Da Silva start in place of Elliot Rokka & Sam Billington who drop down to the bench. Loan signing Ben Harrison is ineligible.

Witton team:

Ollie Martin, Mike Koral, Jack Tinning, Lee Jackson, Oliver Hitchcox, Kingsley Williams, Taylor Kennerley, Prince Haywood, Joe Duckworth, Vani Da Silva, Cameron Fogerty.

Subs: Elliot Rokka, Joshua Paterson, Jordan Darlington, Danny Adigun, Sam Billington.
