Half Time Score from The NetDec Stadium:

Witton Albion 1 Boston United 0.

Albion lead at the break courtesy of Rob Hopley 's early goal but there must be concerns as to whether the game will finish or not.

Match abandoned at half time due to fog.

Two Jokes of decisions - Firstly it shouldn’t have been started given the state at k.o and the lie of the land/impact of floodlights.
Secondly it Shouldn’t have been stopped - it was no wise at the end of half time than it was at the end of the 1st half so it should have been allowed to carry on and see if it worsened and if so then abandon it by all means.

However 45 mins played means no refunds required so hopefully there will be a half price offer for the rearranged game or something similar.
Positives Witton weren’t outclassed and scored a very good goal, and Boston won’t be looking forward to travelling back up on Tuesday!

We looked the better , the referee was as Andy said wrong and stupid, my biggest worry is out increasing injury list and our small squad, if Brown is now fit might be a case to go 5 at the back eg

Roberts
Haywood, Lycett, Brown, Wilson, Devine
Hickman, Owens, Bauress
Hopley, Tames

Not Ideal but with Gards, Williams and Reeves out we dont have a lot left ? UTA

Driving over I was thinking there was no way the game would be on. Having started though everyone would have preferred to play to a finish (especially us as we seemed the better team, couldn’t see what was going on at the far end mind, and were leading!). There was no way the game could have gone on though, visibility was getting worse rather than clearing and it was the correct decision to abandon the game.

what was the gate today?

The law, as I understand it, is that if the referee in the centre of the pitch cannot see both goals then it is unplayable, that was not the case. Yes, it was hard for supporters to see but not for the ref, linesman or players and they are all that matter.

The “if you can see both goalposts from the half way line its ok” rule must be the most outdated and ridiculous one remaining in football. What about the goalkeeper and defence, is it ok for them not to be able to see what is going on at the other end of the pitch?? Absolutely bonkers, this game should have never started.

We have gained nothing but lost our captain from what looked like a pretty nasty injury. You also have to feel sorry for the expense incurred by Boston and their fans that made the long journey. I’m not saying this is anyone at WAFC’s fault by any means, it is the officials that make the decisions. They made the wrong one twice today, as has been said the conditions were no worse when it was abandoned as they were when it started. UTA

Ref made correct decision IMO to call off the game, but was a couple of hours too late making it. No enjoyment whatsoever trying to watch that, was like viewing the match with a carrier bag over your head. One of the few clear views I got was of our captain leaving the pitch on a stretcher, yet another injury to add to the list. My sympathies also to fans of Boston for a day lost from their lives that they will never get back. Can’t make the replay due to working until 7.00, but if the bench is one short get Carl to give us a call, i’ll borrow some boots and get there for half time.

My eyesight is poor to say the least but I could see clearly the opposite side of the pitch and the goalposts dimly from behind the other goalposts. Never saw any player being caused any problems by the visibility.
What do you think ?
http://EXAMPLE.com/media/kunena/attachments/1918/034-.jpg
Sorry vi8 this is obviously not today’s match as WHS could clearly see the opposite side of the pitch.

A camera lens is not as good as a person’s eyes and I could still see the sign in the middle of the stand opposite as clearly as I could see it at kick off, there was no change in conditions and there was no threat to anyone’s well being in my opinion. We were one nil up so of course Boston were happy with the decision, I fail to see why any Wittoner would be. At no point was it impossible to see any player on the pitch or the side he was on. Perhaps the Ref should have worn white because he was the only one who was indistinct, the flags the linesmen were holding showed clearly where they were. No, I could not always follow the play, but the players could and they are all that matters.
