Sorry this is not a personal attack on any individual but I think the Doc “V18” has got my drift. Nige needs better support from someone who knows football and who has contacts, can act as a consultant, and perhaps would contribute to our overall tactics.
He’s getting the most fantastic support from YOU the fans and that is to be commended. Sounds crazy I know but Nige has worked with Paul Ogden before and he’s currently out of work I think. Paul with his experience, contacts and overall know how would be the type of bloke to lift some of the weight of Niges shoulders but with Nige still making the final decisions. I’m not being disloyal to Nige when I say this I genuinely feel for him but we are not football people so can’t exactly help much on that score other than maybe helping out by scouting for other players at matches or watching future opponents etc.
If it is that we have to work with the current crop of players and improve them then Nige would be able to concentrate more fully on that with someone like Paul with his vast experience bringing his vast knowledge of contacts, orgnisational and administrative skills and be a sounding board for Nige. OK we know money is tight and you might think Paul would want to be manager but I think he doesn’t want the pressure of being an overall boss now so being involved but without the full responsibilty might suit.
OK shoot me down in flames all of you thats fine and this is probably a non starter but it is I feel a constructive idea and not having a pop at Nige whom I like know, and respect as a Wittoner.
Rant over sorry!!
Hi Guys,
First time trying this forum thing, so apologies if this goes slightly worng. I am a Northwich guy born and bred. This season I have stopped playing Saturday football and started watching Witton with my 9 year old lad. (really enjoying it, except the weather on Tue) Just a couple of things I have noticed so far.
- Keeper is quality, made some really good saves especially in the first half.
2)Witton very rarely spread the ball wide, which can maybe explain wht Steve Smith (no.15) looks uninterested, lazy, and out of place.
Still no excuse for what looks like sulking though. I noticed that after a while he comes inside to get the ball in frustration rather than getting chalk on his boots and putting the effort up and down the line.
3)Scott Willis is quality and I could watch him all day.
Maybe some of his aggression and passion could be spread to a few others.
Does anyone know why he didnt play vs Cammell ?
Please dont tell me he’s gone too ?
I believe alot of very good players got shipped out/nicked just after they nearly won the league last season
4)I quite liked Liam Coyle, similar to Scott and gave a good spine to the team with them both Centre Def and Centre Mid
-
Kid on the right (got switched to the left 2nd half) looked lively
-
Zane upfront didnt look so lively.
Come on the Albion ! This is much more enjoyable than playing football every Saturday in the Crewe League for Winnington Av, getting spanked each week.
Bondyr, welcome to the crazy world that is WAFC. Be prepared for a roller-coaster ride!
Cheers Eddiec, I’m on board and strapped in !
How refreshing to have new and not boring thoughts on the team. Welcome BONDYR.
