ONE nil to the albion lugsden header
half time still one nil
only one-nil still, what a joke glad i gave it a miss
won one nil.
what? 1-0 did we feel sorry for a team/neighbours 5 divisions below us!!!
No one was able to tell me what time the kick off was but I still made the mistake of turning up in time to see the game.
I can’ t recall us putting three consecutive passes together and their keeper didn’t have to make a save in the second half. So many basics seem to be missing that it is difficult to know where to begin. Perhaps a start would be some practice at passing, and coaching in running in to space to take a pass from a team mate. It really felt like we were watching eleven people who haven’t played together rather than a team.
Strange to feel so depressed after we’ve just won!
Things can only get better.
I put in a full day at school, went to Crewe to a meeting with my tutor, drove home, had my tea then dived down to watch the second half. I have to say I put in more effort simply getting to the game than many of the Witton players tonight. I only exclude Pritch, Mike and the number seven, who though he did not play well at least put in some effort. It has to be the worst Witton team I have EVER seen in watching Witton for over 50 years, and I am not exaggerating. If the players cannot be bothered I certainly can’t. Big Phil berated me for watching the Rugby instead of a “competitive match” on Saturday, tonight I have seen more competition from a couple of sparrows fighting over a piece of bread in my back garden. I will not be watching again until there is a dramatic improvement in the commitment from this team, in fact I think their wages should be witheld until they do.

PS I will still put into the fund when I can, but God only knows why.

Well the chairman said " the football will not be pretty in the short term under Gary Finley " - How right he was !

Well you can’t get in free for cup games i suppose…
Teamwork, passion, committment, fluid passing, sheer physical effort, several dangerous balls into the box, Well Done Lostock, you deserved at least a goal.
A stranger entering the ground would not have guessed which was the Unibond Premier team.

Not surprising considering Gary has inherited the worst team that has ever worn the red and white, no fitness, no interest, and no talent the quicker he can get another 8 players in the better, the trouble he has now though is the only players he will be able to get hold of will not be getting in elsewhere
glad i kept my fiver tucked away in my pocket cos quite frankly they dont deserve it. God knows how much i have spent on witton this season and it has only got me down. Gary did inherit an awful side and those he has brought in look ok. Just wish we had got Gary in 4 months ago, maybe not enough time to turn it round by the time he gets his players in and they get used to playing together. We are going down.

Who doesn’t deserve it?! All the people working tirelessly behind the scenes so that we have a FOOTBALL CLUB to support?? Let alone a football team??
Yes things are bad at the minute, but if you keep on keeping your money in your pocket then there’s no prizes for guessing where Witton Albion is going to end up.
There are people within this Club that deserve much much better than they are getting, from Neil Wilson to Brian Pritchard, and all those in between. You keep on staying away, but it is those people who will suffer, not the rest of the players. The players will just move on to other clubs - the rest of us will be left to pick up the pieces here.
So if it makes you feel better then keep your money in your pocket, stay away, come on here and criticise. But in the long run where is it going to get us? Absolutely nowhere.
What was that argument about at end of match? Witton player runs half way across pitch and starts getting really aggressive with Witton fan, ref ordered him in the tunnel and he had to be dragged off by two other players???
Anyone know what that was about?
Sounded like he did not like criticism but fans are entitled to express their opinions.
Looked like player was out of order but then I did not hear exactly what was said so can not judge
THe critcism was a bit over the top and very loud and personal. However the words used were accurate on how he palyer was performing

If a player has an issue with anything said to him, then there is a time and a place to respond - and running x amount of yards to confront somebody is not the way to do it.
Whether the criticism was over the top or not, the player in question is on a contract with this football club and as such has been taking a wage out every week. After last night i think that it is time he did the decent thing and moved on.
I havn’t been able to get to many/any matches at all this season because of work! Grrr…ANYWAY, i know we are doing very poor at this moment in time (to say the least), but if i had the choice i would still go and watch every single Witton game that i possibly could no matter how bad we are doing, this is the club i love and despite not being able to come to the games i’m still as passionate about the club that i ever was before.
I feel that the team needs every fan who is available to goto the game because the club needs you more than ever. Your support helps with the players morale as well as helping the club by giving them the money they need to continue and not end up in an awful state like vics have.
Given the chance i would still go and watch Witton, buy the food & drinks from the tea hut etc. I think that supporting Witton isn’t a ‘hobby’ which you can switch off/not participate in when things are going tough. Witton is more than that, it is a commitment, and to an extent the club plays a huge part in peoples lives, the club brings us all together where (most) differences can be put aside so we can support the club together as one unit - The Red Army, Witton Fans, even The Pritchard Worshippers.
If i could afford it, i would without a shadow of a doubt go and watch Witton than goto work no matter how badly we were doing.
All i am saying is please offer your support to the team if it is possible, if you’re loyal you will stick behind the team and carry on supporting them through thick and thin, and experience the lows with the team as well as experiencing and loving the highs.
Times are hard for us all, and especially for the club we need to keep the club alive and attendances of 200+ may only just do the job.
I know some people may see this post as a bit ‘pointless’ or ‘pathetic’ but i don’t care, im saying how much i love this club and how much i would sacrifice (if i could) for the team and im sure that many of you will feel the same way.
Cheers if you read the post, and if you didnt then thanks for reading this little bit
Oops didnt mean for it to be that long…
