Gate 419, shame the performance hasn’t impressed

We were absolutely abysmal today. Big gate, poor performance, typical Albion.

Created next to nothing all game. With all due respect to the youngsters in the middle of midfield we definitely missed Sheehan and an ‘enforcer’ such as Clampitt or James. We lost the midfield battle today and the injury to Ben Harrison meant another younster, Josh Glover, was forced into the game. A lack of leadership and creativity today. Big game on sat at Valerie Park. Sheehan, Cooper and Newman to hopefully return to the starting 11.

Yes we had sheehan clampett and james missing from central midfield, and lost ben in central defence and had a loan keeper in the nets but even so id expect more from the team out there today we were short on quality, ideas, leadership and worst of all effort the midfield 4 were terrible ( no one was good ) and hence we ended up with gaghan and gardner in the centre of midfield - I hope we never see woolley in centre mid again-hes ok in defence to be fair ! the only possible ray of hope from today was liam newman coming back from injury, lets hope we have clampet or james back to partner sheehan very soon. other results did not go too badly so all is not lost but we must get back to form soon, I hope pritch runs the turkey and beer off them in training really fed up ! what a bad start to the new year.

Nowhere near good enough today. Very disjointed with missing players.
Fortunately other results have gone our way (except for Fylde winning) so all is not lost. Have to get back on track as this league is there for the taking.
Need to put today behind us, dust off and start playing on the floor again. (although not at valarie park on sat! As the pitch will prob be bad)
We have played some beautiful football this season and our pitch is perfect for it. Long ball isn’t working as we don’t have any height.
Only other critism would be we need to shoot on site a bit more.
Sure we can get going again and put a good run together.
Up the albs

Very poor today, yes we have injuries and a few players out of form. But can’t forgive lack of effort and failing to do the basics time and time again. Trafford played well and there work rate often left us 10 yards behind them. We need to get back on track quickly if we want to make the play offs. I’m sure Pritch made his feelings clear after the game. So hopefully we won’t see a repeat of this sort of performance again this season.

Nothing less than all 3 points will do next week!

The enforced changes caught up with us today.Trafford played well and took full advantage of our injured riddled squad.

The league might be there for the taking but today shows how hard and unforgiving it also is.

Well summed up by Mario - at the risk of making too many excuses we were missing influential players, and those you would hope could win you a game were also off colour today.
As a voice of reason while the league may be there for the taking - did anyone honestly expect to be realistically saying that at the turn of the year? We have come a long way and lets not forget that.

I think everyone accepts we were depleted, what I think is hard to stomach is that given our position and how important each game is that some players did not seem to put the effort in that was required and im sure Pritch will sort that out because he never gave less than 100% and will expect the same from his players.

:frowning: 120 mile round trip for only the second time this season, the last time was the 4-0 reverse v Lancaster. Being a long time Wittoner I was not upset or surprised. Its exactly what I expected.

Well my round trip was 2 mile and I was still upset !!! :frowning:

You have to say Trafford played well, didn’t resort to Warrington clogging, and whupped us fair and square there! We need the injured players back as soon as possible, we lost the midfield woefully and our quick passing attacking game was gone! Bugger! (lets hope Ben is OK!)

a tuely woeful display in front of a good gate, which is and has been typical of witton over the years, but hey we are wittoners throughj and through, so lets put this game to bed and get on with supporting this squad of players who are doing so much to get witton up where they belong. come on witton.
