Am I the only one on the forum who doesn’t quite understand why forum contributors save so much venom for Jim Vince? My simple, from the sidelines admittedly, interpretation of events was that he was given the job and given a budget. He went about putting a very good team together, playing some of the best football any of us have seen at Witton for years and finished runners up twice, only losing out on promotion to teams with considerably bigger budgets who are now in the Conference. The board, very sensibly, decided that the budget had to be reigned in a bit so Vince resigned (with a rather bizarre attempt to do some kind of ‘Clough at Derby’ thing at the end). I can’t say I blame him for leaving Witton knowing that the Halifax job was going, not everyone who arrives at Wincham Park is Brian Pritchard. He then signed a lot of our ex-players who were going to leave anyway - didn’t Benny Phillips do the same with BPA? Maybe I missed something but I think we’ve had much worse managers presiding over much less exciting periods in our history. And one final thing - this was the fella who brought Nicky Maynard to the club - doesn’t he deserve a break just for that? All the best to one and all.
I must remember to get to the home game v Woodley particularly early to welcome him.

Referring to your posting Chris - yes you are missing something.
He was an absolute t**t at the end and caused the club a lot of potential revenue and me personally a lot of heartache.
But that’s now water under the bridge as far as WAFC are concerned.
GE
Very difficult to put on here Chris exactly what happened because some of the things he did are unproven even though we know for sure what he did which has been discussed at shareholders and supporters meetings
One thing I will say is that no the players were not going to leave until someone acted as an unofficial agent for the players touting them around other clubs and collecting a nice thankyou off those clubs (alegedly)
If he did nothing else he was responsibly for the above person resigning from the board - that in itself is reason enough for me to never forgive the man.
If you ask him to open his mouth you will find he has a forked tongue.
Bar steward !
I am sure the sale of snake shaped draught excluders will go up when Woodley visit us.
That man is a total complete and utter *rsehole…END OF!!!1
Apparently he was due to have an *rsehole transplant and the *rsehole rejected him.
(credit due to MP late 70’s)
You’re right he is due a break.
Chris yes you have missed a lot.
The man should not be allowed into the ground, and is not welcome anywhere near our club.
this vermin should not be allowed into the ground, calling him a snake is an insult to this reptile. in the end he did witton untold damage, and should be treated as the vermin he became. i am just sorry that i got taken in by such a hideous creature, as i am sure are many other albion fans. may he rot in hell.
The man should not be allowed into the ground, and is not welcome anywhere near our club Says Neil
Steady Neil you could be struck off the website !
I have to disagree with you GE.
You got the tense wrong, ‘He IS an absolute t**t’
More faces than the town hall clock, incredibly manipulative, a liar, self-centered, egotistical, nasty! And I’ve only listed his good qualities!
He was banned from the ground for his role in engineering the departure of players. As far as I am aware that ban has never been lifted. I suggest we write to the league’s chairman to inform him of this situation. Fortunately we won’t have to buy a stamp!
Roll on the CSC game at Woodley on 9th November, unfortunately I doubt he’ll make it as far as March and the home fixture at Wincham Park (not that he should be in attendance anyway)!
Has JV been charged or punished ( apart from us banning him from the ground ) with anything to do with his sudden departure fron WAFC ? If not don’t see how we can stop him coming as Woodley Sports manager !
Let him in and give him the reception he is due !
A restaurant, pub or any other establishment can ban people through their doors without them having to be ‘charged’, so why not a football club.
I do on the other hand completely agree we should give him the reception he is due. Of course all this is based on the less than likely situation that he will still be in the job by March!
Can’t wait for the self abuser to come to WAFC.
Perhaps you could give him an endoscopy with the blunt end of a ragmans trumpet Vi8 ?
Or a vuvujela.
What a crock of …
