Rather than concentrating on negatives, let’s try and make this a success and finally get the Club some much-needed positive publicity.
We have suffered enough with negative press coverage, so hopefully we can turn this around.
Maybe it will put a few extra people on the attendance, and maybe even bring in a few new faces.
Witton Albion World Record Attempt on behalf of Sports Relief.
We are hoping to set a new world record for the amount of goals “Punted” from the half way line in a minute.
The current record is a modest 11, and was set by Spain goalkeeper Iker Casillas in Beijing, China, on 9 July 2011.
We would like to raise money for Sports Relief and intend to do this on the Saturday of 15th March – our home game with Whitby Town.
If we can generate enough interest in this then we are hoping to attract some media coverage.
The idea is also to raise some money for the Club too.
Each person will pay £5 to enter, and this will go direct to the Club.
There is also a commitment to raise at least £30 in sponsorship money, which will go to Sports Relief.
We would like at least 10 people to take part in this.
If you are interested then please let me know, and I will provide you with further details. The Club are offering a signed shirt to anybody who breaks the record, so well worth a punt!!
We are also looking at other ways to get involved in Sports Relief this year, so any ideas would be appreciated.
