Former Witton midfielder Steve Connors has won his appeal against dismissal from Blue Square Premier outfit, Cambridge United and has now been reinstated.
Congleton Town have sacked manager Joe Palladino following Saturdayâs 3-0 home defeat against AFC Blackpool. The club are currently mid-table in the North West Counties League, having won 7 and lost 9 of 18 games under Palladinoâs leadership. However, the Bears did win away at second-placed Flixton last midweek.
I believe former player and manager Eddie Bishop celebrated his 50th birthday last Friday night by hiring Chester FCâs ground, and playing a match between all his friends he had made in football. Nige Deeley played alongside John Bishop in the centre of midfield of one of the sides.
MOM was Nige Deeley (according to Nige).
Eddie also played for Sunday side FC Thatched Tavern
And he didnât ask me to ref it! I thought he was a mate!!!

Former Witton full back Liam Brownhill has left Chester City and signed for League of Wales club Bangor City.
Thanks Wheels. We donât need him. Got the best left back in non league football already playing for us!! He is are most improved player too in my opinion.
Former Captain Kearney (****)has deserted the sinking ship and will be playing his football @ Airbus UK next season
Saul Otobo, remember him? Scored a hat trick this afternoon in Histonâs FA Cup win at Eastwood Town.
Remember him and his hapless attempt in the box.
While we are at it Doryl âthe Dozzlerâ Proffit is literally banging them in for Market Drayton. Never seemed to reach those heights with us but there you go!!
Not a former player, but John Bond has passed away.
Witton get a brief mention hereâŚ
A great character. He certainly had style
RIP JB.
I remember him being with us but it wasnât for long. He did one thing I have never seen done before or since in a football match. The opposition had a corner and instead of bringing all the players bar one back into the box he left four of our players up field, it caused severe consternation to the opposition who didnât know what to do about it; if memory serves me right they hastily withdrew several players from our box to mark them. Not sure it is a good tactic but it was different!!
WHS.
I remember him sacking Marc Hawkes straight after the match at Gretna, marc wasnât allowed or didnât want to travel on the team bus and ended up on the supporters coach which was full
There will be a minutes silence in memory of John, before Saturdayâs game against Blyth Spartans
