Amalgamation is the joining of two reasonably equal parts, this would be a takeover as they have nothing to offer. I would not object to us buying their ground on the cheap and selling ours for a lot!!!
WHS,
in vics eyes it mean us bailing them out.
at this moment in time at witton we have something unique in northwich, that is a football club (run by the fans for the fans.)
so VICS come back when you have got something to offer.
I’ve said it before and i still stand by it, i could never watch Witton playing with that stadium as our home.
It would be our ground, we could paint it red and take the massive profit, okay by me!!
WHS.
It’d still be the VICTORIA Stadium and it’d still contain the Dane Bank Stand, and therefore part of the Drill Field.
Me too.
I love our swamp and little Jiminey on my shoulder wouldn’t let me look across the canal let alone move there.
No way, never, forget it. Never will I set foot in Conman Stadium to watch Witton Albion so dont even think about it. I am up for talks about ground sharing Witton or both clubs moving to a new ground in the town, would also be ok to discuss a new club for the town. Witton and Northwich anyone? Maybe not but we do have to start thinking seriously if we think we will have a viable club ourselves in 20 years time.
Robbo, No it wouldn’t, we would re-name it the “NEW CENTRAL GROUND” and call the “Danebank Stand” the “ST. BRIAN PRITCHARD STAND”
WHS.
That ground was built for NORTHWICH. Changing the name of The Danebank wouldn’t make it our home. You can call a knife a fork but its still a knife
Sorry, but if we could get that ground for one million and sell ours for four million we would be mad not to do so. Give it five years and no one will remember Vics ever played there, okay they will, but if we make a “bomb” on the deal and end up in the Conference and they end up playing at the back of the COOP at Rudheath in the Sunday league I think I could put up with a jibe or two about who “Used” to own the ground, and anyway, as far as I am aware Vics, the Football Club, never actually owned the ground, if they did it was for a very short time. We got used to the “Bargain Booze” Stadium and put up with the jokes about that, I think we could cope with this too.
WHS>
Thats a fair point really, failing that buy it, burn it and rebuild it on the insurance:laugh:

If they took over our ground and painted it green who would be the most upset???..us
i say sod it if the offers there and we make lots of cash then build it up in red and white and laugh our heads off…heads we win…tails they lose:)
Count me well and trully out if we move to their ground.
I agree. No matter how much red paint you use, the fact is that you can’t polish a turd.
If it means that we make what would be a substantial profit i.e we buy their ground for less than we sell ours for, then i think it would be for the benefit of the club that we did that…although i wouldnt particularly going to THEIR stadium for OUR home games
It would look much better in red and white though
Don’t forget folks our club is owned by the supporters not one man. Any thoughts on a ground move would have to be put to the shareholders. Our future is in our hands.
As has been said in earlier posts we have a duty to host Runcorn until the deal runs out and surely we would offer them first refusal on a ground share after that if it was required.
Surpried at attitude of some on this thread…
‘I will never go there blah blah coz, yeah but no but… I dont like them coz they said that we said… that they said …we cant go in northern premier league and anyways their old owner is a right sl*g…’
To me this is about as blind and childish as the minority of vics fans who refused to go to our stadium and subsequently sl*gged it off continuously…
Bottom line is we both have similiar stadiums in pretty much the same location…neither is Wembley or Old Trafford…
WP is better than a lot of sh*holes in non league and Maston Arena is potentially better but is unfinished, no segregation (dont know how they would have handled a home fa cup tie against a big team - would probably have been moved) and is a f’n barn - no atmos unless a decent crowd which neither team is getting…
Us playing at WP or VS - no not much difference really…personally dont care about vics but if interest of Witton then why not…if the vics witton thing bothers you then as someone said - would be ultimate humiliation that we bought it and painted it red and white…andthay haveto rent andwe making money out of it!
If you owned a house wirth 300k and your next door neghbour had a potentially better house that required a bit of work but you can have it for 100k …would you be bothered that you did not like your neighbour…no in fact you would probably revel in the fact hat you took advantage of their downfall
If you owned a ground that you wanted to sell, you needed time to sort out a long term solution but somone comes along and says - well by coincidence there is a ground for sale next door at 1/3 of the going rate and you can have a paying tenant - then this is all your christmas times at once?

I am not saying that this is a no brainer ‘yes’ - but some just dismiss the idea before even considered based on bigotry…wheras in fact the long term benefit of Witton should be consisdered and whether this benefits or damages vics is just a side effect that is of no consequence…some will argue that if vics dissappear it will benefit witton so it will be of consequence but they will start again regardless (the trust have the plan in place) so dream on but they are not going to go away…may be at a lower level so one way or the other in the next few years at least… witton will become the main team in town and should just consider what is best for witton - alternative is that we just carry on as we are and then eventually sell WP and try and build something for less money than sale of WP (which is not going to be in centre of town anyway unless we get more money) - enough ranting anyway - just think any ideas shoulod notbe dismissed based on nothing
Whilst I agree with the last writers that our club is owned by the shareholders I would point out that if three of the major ones agreed on a deal I don’t think the rest of us would have enough shares to stop it. One in particular badly wants his money back and we know who that is.
WHS.
If WP is worth 3*VS because approved for housing then once houses are built the surroudning area including the VS would become in the housing radar and value go up - if not then not lost anything still worth the same…so either way not a bad move as could sell later and move elsewhere but not be rushed into having a stadium built before WP can be knocked down…this ‘could be’ an ppportunity that most teams looking to sell never get!!
The value of WP must increase once it is available and it can not be available until there is somehwere else to play?
Surley the situation of a cutprice ground next door is something that shouldbe considered? Maybea no go but surely vics misfortune could be to our benefit - like selling your house… removes alinkfrom the chain rmoves risk, increases value…
