Our Football Club - Our Future

I think that you are right Wheels.

If the 2 teams cannot meet for a friendly, then perhaps the 2 sets of supporters could play each other at Witton in August some time?

What about a friendly with Halifax ?

An unfriendly don’t you mean eli?!

Full of good ideas at the moment Mark, don’t use them all up at once!

Yes with impartial Billy who as Ref.

He’s not gonna have time for that now he’s JV’s PR man.

JV’s PR man?!?! Managing Halifax don’t you mean!

Haha, I’m glad someone finally alluded to it!!

Of course that is only allegedly!

Wouldn’t want anybody thinking I was being disrespectful about this whiter than white situation!

Of course, you cannot be seen to be disrespectful about someone who has commanded so much repect with his conduct and attitude over the last few weeks.

Going back to my earlier point… a friendly between Witton fans and Runcorn fans?

Any thoughts on this?

Be good to do something positive rather than wallowing in all of the doom and gloom!

As I’ve mentioned it to you about 5 times in the last few weeks, yes I’m well up for that!

Great idea and potential fund raiser.

I’ve no idea who we’d speak to about having the pitch though, especially with regards to the work that is needed on there. Makr Harris maybe??? We could have it on a Thursday night before the season if we could get on there otherwise we could maybe have it on the astro (full pitch) at John Deane’s.

put me down too!

Could do it early evening on the pitch at Witton during a week in August when the pitch has had time to settle but hasn’t had too much footy played on it?

Would be great to strengthen the ties between the 2 Clubs.

i would play

I doubt this could be played on the club pitch before the start of the season. Work is about to start on the pitch which will need the full six weeks before the season to be in prime condition. Think the idea of the game is a good one though.

We could easily wait until early September then? If it’s going to be played then it would be beneficial to play it at Witton as Wincham Park is home to both CLubs at the moment. ALso there would be a cost of hiring another venue.

There are plenty of charity and kids games played at Witton over the course of the season, it would be nice if one of these could actually involve the Witton supporters who are continuing to do so much for the Club.

I think this thread is getting a bit off line. Can we move the topic of friendlies for the supporters to the Supporters section of the forum?

We need this thread to concentrate on the future of our club, and mainly the need to raise funds urgently.

We seem to have dried up somewhat on pledgers. Somehow we need to get the message out to all those Wittonners who don’t log on to this forum, without going down the Northwich Guardian route, and airing our dirty linen in public.

Can everybody think of other Wittonners they know who don’t log on to this forum, and pass the message on verbally.

Please start Pledging , even if it is only a tenner!

Does anybody have an update of how much has now been pledged?

Also on a side note…what is happening to the Program this season? Do we have a new editor yet? Or are we too scared to say on here incase they get enticed to Droylsden…
