Witton are in impressive form of late and go into the match off the back of a seven-game unbeaten run, culminating in last weekend’s excellent result against current leaders Chester FC Ladies. They now face another tough test against a team who have all the coaching of a full-time club but, the spirit and application they have shown so far this season stands them in good stead for the challenge. The fixture is being played at Reaseheath College with a 2pm kick off.

Crewe Alexandra Ladies Development Squad 2 Witton Albion Ladies (Juniors) 1

Witton Albion Ladies unbeaten run was brought to an end at Reaseheath College on Sunday afternoon, as they were narrowly beaten by Crewe Alexandra Ladies Development Squad. A competitive game which was goalless at half time, saw Crewe take the lead from a free kick on 47 minutes but Witton never gave up and were rewarded with an equaliser, also from a free kick on 63 minutes. A draw would’ve been an excellent achievement against a team who have the advantage of full-time coaching but it wasn’t to be. Another free kick led to Crewe’s winner on 74 minutes and Witton couldn’t find another goal. Their first defeat in eight matches but they continue to show tremendous spirit.

Hard luck Ladies, back on winning ways soon.
